FORBIDDEN DREAM

Just looking at her makes me smile

I want to keep hugging her for a while

Her touch is so caring and warm

Her presence around makes me calm

But suddenly the pleasure began to fade

I called out but it was too late

I woke up with a gasp to see

Darkness surrounding me

Sadly I caved back into my old wooden bunk

My possesions are only three set of clothes locked in a broken trunk

It is very hot making it hard to breathe

We are packed so close, that my hair brushed my mate's feet

Once again thoughts began to fill my head

What else could happen if one hasn't been fed?

My wish to see my mother is a forbidden dream

Only I can hear my heart scream

The love of a mother is what I long for

Some ignorant fools, only with their mothers they pick a war

I have friends, infact many

All us orphans are like one family

One can replace any relationship to keep their lives stable

But a mother's position is not substitutable

Everytime I think about her

Makes me only weaker

I know I must be happy with what I have

But I don't think anyone should feel happy without their mother's love

I know my wish is nonsence

I can't help it, even if I want, I can't mantain abstinence

It is forbidden to ask for someone who can never return

But I believe everyone has the right to dream without any concern

Truly, having a mother gives you tranquility

We must utilize the opportunity

Although I know my dream will never come true

My forbidden dream shall always continue...

I need you people to tell me how it is. Comments, please.

Salam Sis
Excellent work once again, Masha Allah
But is it personal to you? Inshallah your mom is okay

you remind me about this (if im not mistaken, a cute littel girl sing it):

She wakes up early in the morning with a smile
And she holds my head up high
Don't you ever let anybody put you down
Cos you are my little angel

Then she makes something warm for me to drink
Cos it's cold out there, she thinks
Then she walks me to school, Yes I aint no fool
I just think my Mom is amazing

She makes me feel
Like I can do anything
and when she's with me
there's no where else, I'd rather be…

After School, she's waiting by the gate
I'm so happy that I just can't wait
To get home to tell her how my day went
And eat the yummy food, only my Mom makes

Then I wind her up cos I don't wanna bath
And we run around the house with a laugh
No matter what I say, she gets her way
I think my Mom is amazing

Then I wake up in the morning, she's not there
And I realize she never was
And I'm still here in this lonely orphanage
With so many just like me

And as my dreams begin to fade
I try hard to look forward to my day
But there's a pain in my heart that's a craving
How I wish I had a Mom that's amazing
Would be amazing

Walaikum Salam
It's nothing personal to me. Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed me with mom, dad, four siblings and numerous relatives. Alhamdulillah.

The poem is from a view of a boy. He only had his mom in this world, and later even she died. So, basically, it's an orphan's story.
Did I mention, it's fictious?

Yeah, I get that a lot too, from all the elders in the house. Guess, it's pretty common. :hmm:
