Abu ad-Darda radhi allahu anhu said: "A righteous companion is better than loneliness and loneliness is better than a wicked companion. Further, he who directs to righteousness is better than he who is idle, but he who is idle is better than he who directs to evil."
That means it isn't entirely a bad thing to be lonely or idle. It could be worse. ;D
