The Angel of Death may be Assigned to You this year!

It is narrated that ‘Uthmân b. Áffân – Allâh be pleased with him – said in a sermon:

Son of Adam! Know that the angel of death who has been assigned to you has not ceased to pass you and move on to others, ever since you have been in this world. But it is as if he is about to pass someone else and move on to target you, so be careful and prepare for him (by correcting your deeds). And do not forget him, for he does not forget you. And know o son of Adam, if you are heedless about yourself and do not prepare, no one else will prepare for you. You must meet Allah the Mighty and Majestic, so take for yourself and do not leave it to someone else. Peace be on you.Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-Ílm 2: 73, 74.

So this year could be our very last so there is NO time to delay but prepare NOW as tomorrow may never come!

Too bad Shaytan has his tricks which make us heedless of this reminder.... after a day or two.

I received a great reminder today: a person I knew from my past life died yesterday in an accident. And he was only in his early 30s.
He died in the first day of the new year.

Innalillaahi wa inna ilayhi rooji'uun.

Ina Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi raaji'on. The angel of death was assigned to him. Which one of us is he assigned to next. We must prepare now. There is no time to delay. Our day of judgement will come upon our death which may be at any moment.

May Allah enable us to make the best of each second from now until our death. Ameen

Increase in the remembrance of death

There is no doubt that death ends the delights and pleasure of this life, as the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu 'alayhi wa-salaam) has told us:

"Increase in your remembrance of the destroyer of pleasures (ie. death). For verily, one who remembers it when enduring the hardships of like, it widens for him (ie. he no longer feels overburdened with the hardships he is experiencing). Whenever one remembers it at times of opulence (wealth, abundance), it will cause him to feel restricted and burdened (ie. he will not then be too involved with this life and will start to reflect on the serious and heavy matters awaiting him)". (an-Nasaa`ee, at-Tirmidi, Ibn Majaah and others)

The pleasures are what prevent a tear to be shed, nor any sadness and grief to be felt by the heart. So increase in your remembrance of death, in an attempt to feel the terrors and horrors that will follow it, out of fear of Allaah. Indeed this is easy for the one whom Allaah wishes to make it easy for.

Yes, nothing is easy until Allah makes it easy for us.

We cannot succeed at anything unless Allah guides us, helps us and grants us ease.
