I've been getting emails, PMs, and complaints about the advertisements. I have mentioned this before but I'd like to touch upon this subject once again.

First of all, one way that would help is if you clicked on advertisements relevant to you. This would automatically customize the adverts displayed on the website. And considering we don't accept donations on IslamicBoard or the Jannah Network, it would also be your indirect contribution, too. :statisfie Double Whammy. But I'm not allowed to ask you to click advertisements. :hiding: But it would help us, no doubt, if you clicked on advertisements relevant to you. :)

If you do find advertisements disturbing, please send us the link to the website it redirects to so we can filter it out, insha-Allah. You can comment on this thread or email us at info [at] jannahnetwork.com.

With that being said, Jazakallahu Khair for your continuous participation.

While I'm writing this thread, I'd like to remind all users that we are all brothers and sisters in humanity. Let us maintain dignity and respect when speaking to each other. :)

:wa:

for few days, I am seeing these ads of women showing their awrah (jannah network ads with Dresses and Gowns, seems more like a lingerie!!) and close up shots on LI (some white girl with a green shirt). What's happening?

We guys visit LI in hopes that this will be safe haven for us from the fitna, but the infestation is here too?

A quick question Brother beardo....

Did Islamic Board joined the "google display network? Most forums and blogs have it.

If it did, then that allows google to show interest based ads on this site. However, the ads that are displayed to each individual are mainly based on the websites each individual visits. If someone visits matrimonial sites, then google will display what they call interest based ads that advertise something that is matrimonial in nature. If you visit news sites, sports site, or religious sites etc, then google thanks to its advertising cookie will associate each individual's computer with certain interest and demographic categories.

I did notice the ads, but most of the time, at least for me, they had a similar theme as the websites I was browsing.

Interest-based advertising: How it works

Many websites, such as news sites and blogs, join the Google Display Network, which enables Google to show ads on their sites. It's our goal to make these ads as relevant as possible for you. While we often show you ads based on the content of the page you are viewing, we also show some ads that you might find useful based on the types of websites you like to visit.

The following example explains this technology step by step:
Meet Mary

Mary's favorite hobby is gardening. With Google's interest-based advertising technology, Mary will see more relevant gardening ads because she visits many gardening websites. Here's how that works:

1. When Mary visits websites and watches videos in the Google Display Network or other partner sites, Google stores a number in her browser (using a "cookie") to remember her visits. That number could look like this: 114411.

2. Because many of the websites that Mary visits are related to gardening, Google puts her number (114411) in the "gardening enthusiast" interest category. Similarly, if those sites have a majority of female visitors (based on aggregated survey data on site visitation), her number (114411) may be added to the 'female' inferred demographic category.

3. As a result, Google may show Mary more ads that are relevant to gardening enthusiasts and women as she browses websites that are part of the Google Display Network or partner sites.

Assalam Alykom

I was wondering, do you display ads for other websites (not those who appear through google ads)?

ad block solves all those probs through firefox, problem is IB has many bug problems that can only be bypassed through safari.. I don't think you can be a 'huge queer' if you are of the female disposition using that browser! :p

It may be a desire to make money on a website but you do not really need to make money in order to cover hosting fee's. Better for you IF you like to gain members is to delete the Kufar Ads and go with an Islamic based Advertising agency. You will kill two birds with one stone. Every Muslim webmaster wants to make money but few really understand the concept to help your brothers and sister in Islam without expect a buck in return...
