Peace, one and all...
There was this dramatic account of a youthful Sayyid Abu Yazid al-Bustami with a condescending Hadith Scholar, to whom Abu Yazid replies with a stunning revelation of his level of mystical experience.
''A man from the Hadith Folk said to Abu Yazid, ''Do you pray properly''?. He said, ''Yes, God Willing''. So he asked, ''How do you pray''? He said, ''I Proclaim 'God is Most Great' in obedience, I recite with modulation, I kneel in veneration, I prostrate with humility, and I give salutation full of peace''. Then he said, ''Boy, if you have this understanding, execellence of knowledge, why do you permit the people to touch you seeking blessing''?.
He replied, ''They are not touching me, they are only touching an adornment with which my Lord has adorned me. Should I forbid them from that, when it does not [in fact] belong to me?''.

There is nothing sacred nor is there barakah in the garment of the believers where they can recieve blessings from a garment, reminds me of the hadeeth of abu waqid al laythee (radhia Allaahu anhu) concerning dhaatu anwaat (the tree the mushrikeen used to hang.their weapons on believing that the tree had.the ability to give them victory in battle. And the companions asked.the messenger of Allaah to make them a tree like the mushrikeen had to which he said Allaahu Akbar! You have asked the same thing bani Israel asked moosaa (alayhi salam) to make them a god like that of Firawn. Which was shirk. For more info on this read qawaa'idul arbah on this site about tawheed.
