My question is how does the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him being Illiterate/illiterate or UnLettered ? How does this make the Quran a Miracle/An Miracle from God/Allah/The Creator of the Universe does this have anything to do with Poetry and or the way the Quran is written and or the Arabic Text my question is how is the Quran a Miracle in terms of Language ? Can anyone explain how the Prophet Muhammad being Illiterate/illiterate or UnLettered makes the Quran a Miracle is terms of Poetry Language and the Arabic Text ? Can a Illiterate/illiterate or UnLettered Man/Person/Human not know Poetry Language and the Arabic Text or how to produce Poetry Language and the Arabic Text in a Book or in Writting
or did he not know how to read write or understand Poetry Language and the Arabic Text ? Does the Quran also have a Challenge having to do with this thank you ? Also is the Quran also a Mathematical Miracle ? Can a Illiterate/illiterate or UnLettered Man/Person/Human not know Math ? Could a Illiterate/illiterate or UnLettered Man/Person/Human not be able to produce the Quran with out God and and the Quran being a Miracle from God ? My question is how is the Quran a Literary and a Linguistic Miracle ?

These were the first verses of the Qur’an to be revealed to Prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace) over fourteen hundred years ago. Prophet Muhammad, who was known to have been in retreat and meditation in a cave outside Makkah, had received the first revelation of a book that would have a tremendous impact on the world. Not being able to read or write or known to have composed any piece of poetry and not having any special rhetorical gifts, Prophet Muhammad had just received the beginning of a book that would deal with matters of belief, law, politics, rituals, spirituality, and economics in an entirely new literary form.

Fatwa No : 88584
How could the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, read, since he was illiterate?
Fatwa Date : Rajab 21, 1425 / 6-9-2004
Question

Our Prophet Muhammad,

, was illiterate. How did he read Quran? And how could he recite the first revelation when Angel Jibreel came to him in the cave of Hira?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad

, is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah, The Most-High, sent down the message to His Prophet, Muhammad, who was illiterate and could neither read nor write. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one whatsoever with your right hand. Then [i.e. otherwise] the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.} [Quran, 29: 48]
The Prophet’s being illiterate and not knowing how to read or write is one of the greatest evidences that he was really a prophet and that he was sent by Allaah, the Most-High. How could an illiterate person bring the Quran, if not by way of revelation? Allaah The Almighty Says in the verse above (what means): {…the falsifiers would have doubted.} If the Prophet

, had not been illiterate, the polytheists would have claimed that what he came with was of his own invention and thoughts, and that he had collected it from previous books. Since he was illiterate and came with this magnificent Quran, this proves that it is a revelation from Allaah The Almighty. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Certainly did Allaah confer [great] favour upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [i.e. the Qur’aan] and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.} [Quran, 3:164]
The answer to the saying of the questioner 'how was the Prophet

, able to read the Quran?' is that it was Jibreel

who taught him, as Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {He has been taught the Qur'aan by one mighty in power (Jibreel)} [Quran, 53:5]
The Prophet

, at the very first stages used to repeat the Quran with his tongue, lest he should forget it. So Allaah The Almighty forbade him from doing so, as Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And do not be in haste with the Qur'aan before its revelation is completed to you.} [Quran, 20:114] So Allaah The Almighty promised to preserve the Quran in the bosom of the Prophet

, in a manner that he would not forget. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Move not your tongue with it, (O Muhammad ), to hasten with it (i.e. recitation of the Quran). Indeed, upon Us is its collection (in your heart) and (to make possible) its recitation.} [Quran, 75:16-17] Meaning that Allaah The Almighty will certainly preserve it in the Prophet's

, heart, and he will read it to the people without forgetting anything in it.
Allaah The Almighty further Says (what means): {So when We have recited it (through Gabriel), then follow its recitation.} [Quran, 75:18] This verse means, when Jibreel

reads it, listen to it. {Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]} [Quran, 75:19], that is to say, after you memorize it We will clarify it to you. So Allaah The Almighty promised to preserve the Quran in the heart of His Prophet

, and to clarify to him its meaning. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {We shall make you to recite the Quran so you shall not forget it.} [Quran, 87:6]
As for the saying of the questioner 'how was he able to read the verses revealed to him in the cave of Hiraa'?', the answer to this is that he was taught by Jibreel

. An illiterate person who cannot read from books or write, is taught orally.
Allaah Knows best.

Just to add a point to this discussion, that the Christians and Jews until this day claim that the Quran is plagerized from their Bible.

This is actually a insult to their own book.

The Bible was written over 100's if not 1000's of years by different authors, which they admit.

Now if one Man, born in the Dark Ages, in a uncultured part of the desert world, could produce a Book that can equal the Bible or rival it (Islam is worlds second largest religion today and growing)
then what does that say about the value of their own Book ?

On top of that if that Man can "plagerize" only the bits which are scientifically and historically true, and use that to found a nation, build empire and establish a civilization, win many battles, administer cities etc then
really that Man must be a scholar like no other, a genius. So if they reject Muhammed (saw) on the basis that he forged the Quran, then they are giving him 100x more credit than the Muslims who say he was only a
Prophet sent by the Creator.

The Quran is the most influential and literary powerful book on the planet since its time, no person has been able to match it in style or content. A man living in the desert over 1,400 years ago who didn't know how to read or write spoke it and since then none can match it in style or content (even today when we have the internet available and people are able to read and write) - isn't this a proof he's a Messenger of God?
