Freedom for Vision

Human beings have always been reaching for different goals to gain freedom. Freedom is a beautiful status that gives us power and confidence. It allows us to behave and live in a way we can be who we are. We choose and participate in things that we like, we love, and we care for. Individuals, groups or nations always seek for freedom which is the first state needed and valued to human beings. It generates independence, strength, ability to be active and live themselves. Nation after nation, people have fought, sacrificed their lives, and died for freedom.
The opposite word of freedom is “slavery”. People used to be captured and taken away to be used as slaves to others. Today we are going to talk about “inner freedom” and “vision” which a lot of people don’t think about or see because of their “inner slavery”.

What is “vision”?
Here we talk about vision of heart. When we can see freely with our eyes, feel freely with our heart; think freely with our mind, we can achieve vision, which help us to see the truth about things happening around us. Now we know exactly the right thing to do and what is important for us according to our goal, need, and desire.

In general, we live under certain pressure---a set of rules, environment and people to make us do what they like, and etc. Where are we? Can we be free in this situation? Can our thinking be free? Can our vision be free? Can our desire be free?

We as human beings are very dependent and affective to our environment according to who we are, where we are, and what our goal in life is. It generates either pressure or harmony. Let's take a business man living in a major city. Imagine his manners, attitude, character, and most of all the status of his heart meaning tranquility and peace in such an environment.

Now let’s take him to a small village close to a sea or mountains. He must feel the difference in everything---the air, the color of the sky, water, birds and insects, people etc. He breathes deeply, walks slowly, talks slower, and eats slowly. He takes time to look at things and contemplate. Now with his eyes, heart, and mind all open and free, he has “inner freedom” and clear vision. If he spends more time, something else might happen. He might start thinking of different things and all of sudden he might get inspiration, and his goal in life can be changed. Once he allows himself to relax, reflect and contemplate, he can achieve freedom for vision, which can open for him completely different understanding of life. Now he is a totally different person. Freedom from outside made him hungry for freedom inside. He is away from his family, the hostile environment, and the high speed of life; he is now searching for the truth of his life.

Five elements which generate a new vision

1) Different environment (somewhere quiet like mountains, sea, forests, or small village)

2) Time (The more time we spend in a place, the more it affects us positively or negatively. Therefore, it takes time to see different results.)

3) Companionship (They have to be new people with knowledge, kindness, generosity, wisdom... etc.)

4) Knowledge from reliable sources which contributes to one’s happiness and wellbeing

5) Commitment and determination to be free, to be oneself

All of the above is necessary to achieve new vision, the road to freedom. If you are in cycle of tightness and have no freedom in your heart, you are in a state of “inner slavery” to whatever your heart is occupied with. We want to be free from being slave of anybody, anything. What we need is a vacation, but not a vacation that we will come back to the same thing. It will not do. It is a trip to gain freedom for vision to set us free and to be ourselves. Freedom equals power and confidence. Slavery equals weakness and despair.
