too much food is bad for the heart, having a great stomach amounts to nothing, it makes people lazy and rouses other carnal appetites!

Take action yourself, take initiative and do the right thing.

That one with the ants reminds me of Sahih Bukhari 8:468.

The Prophet said, “A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, enforcing each other.” While (saying that) the Prophet clasped his hands, by interlacing his fingers.

We all know that everyone has to go through pain and difficulties to become stronger, but sometimes you can't stop someone who cares for you deeply from wishing to take away your troubles. I am certain at one time you have had someone who had offered you this sentiment of great love and concern. Thank them for they are a part of your healing...a part of your life! — Dodinsky ,

I guess the point I was trying to make is that we should judge people by their own merit rather than stereotype them by the actions of their social or religious group.

A picture of a muslimah giving alms to a Buddhist monk in Indonesia stands for "how Muslims treat Buddhists" and yet pictures of Buddhists monks showing support to Muslim refugees in Myanmar means nothing??

Truth is, not all people are the same.

Not all Buddhists want to see Muslims murdered and diplaced.
Not all Israelis are Zionists.
Not all American are Islamophobes.
Not all Christians are Islamophobes.
Not all Muslims are Suicide bombers.
etc, etc

We'd do better to judge people by their actions than by the stereotypical attributes we attach to them.

I applaud the Indonesian muslimah for giving alms to the Buddhist monk.
And I applaud the Buddhist monks for showing support to the Muslim refugees.
It is actions like that which can change societies!

Neither are the monks in the pictures I posted.

Give credit where credit is due, Lily. What's the point in all that hate-mongering? When people make gestures of friendship and show care for the sake of others, then we need to recognise and respect that.

Do we even know what it is about? Perhaps they're gathering them up to roast them later. The mods removed pictures of mass graves of Muslims stripped of their clothes and laying on top of one another while these beggars & worshippers of the devil are standing over their bodies in masks gloating before they dumped them in mass graves.
I am glad you see through the smarmy BS as well.. I have really had my fill of it, maybe no one else wants to see it and I don't care at this stage.

That actually has happened before. The nazis would take mentally retarded people from the families with promise of providing them better care facilities while marching them all into gas chambers. It's a same routine genocidal war criminals and terrorists regimes follow, be they England, Europe, USA, Russia, NATO, india or Burma.

I was wondering why the folks of burma if they were completely stripped of everything and overcome why they didn't at least reach for some sand and shove it in those pigs' eyes as they're raping and killing them. Fight back people, they push, push right back.. they already call you terrorists so what difference does it make?

Great quotes by Carl Jung.

I just googled him and found that he "saw the human psyche as "by nature religious", and made this religiousness the focus of his explorations".
I knew of him as a psychotherapist, but I didn't know that.

^ Actually it's not contradicting. What it means is you should be happy and content with whatever you have while at the same time try your best to achieve your goals.

When you work hard with a goal in mind you have less time to worry and be sad......and in the end even if you don't achieve exactly what you wanted you will get numerous other benefits on the side and lots of doors are opened to other opportunities that you didn't even know existed.

If your happy and content why bother trying to achieve some other goals? It means you still want something. :p:

:) well said, you summed it up.

The thing is we're just result oriented n not effort oriented.

Allah looks at our efforts n rewards us according to that so one should try their best n be happy while doing whatever Allah has asked us to do even if one fails , at the end of the day you know u tried ur best n that InshaAllah Allah Will reward you.

Oh, Lord... It is a means of calling upon or addressing Allah (swt) directly. It is used in the same manner as getting someone's attention like, "Excuse me, sir..." to ask them a question or make a request.

I am not an expert on this but I say Ya Rabb all the time. Like before I plead with Allah, I say 'Ya Allah, ya Rabbi'. I say that because I am acknowledging that Allah is my Master, my Creator and the source of everything I have and the source of everything I need. Like I said, I say that very often because I am a fakir and I need lots and lots of stuff from Allah.

that's what it is coming down to now ya ikhwaan. It is the decisive battle of the end. All religions have dissolved to a relic and with their approval and all that remains is Islam to fight that..

Yes, this is very odd indeed. I mean quoting myself but I have to because someone asked me what is a fakir and I thought it might be useful to post my answer here.

From what I learned, there are two grades of poor people. One is the miskin (Malay word for poor) who are the people who, as the Malays put it, "kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang" which translates, literally, as "Scratch (aka scrounge) in the morning and eat in the morning, scratch in the evening and eat in the evening" which means that people who are so poor that if they don't work, they don't eat.

Even poorer and more miserable than the miskin are the fakir who don't even have enough to eat. Compared to Allah, I am a fakir because I have nothing, I own nothing, I lack in everything. I think in Arabic there is a term called faqir illalLah aka fakir in the eyes of Allah. The full meaning and significance of this term, I leave to more knowledgeable people to explain.

Suffice to say, that as I stumble and fumble my way through this life, I am nothing more than a perambulating mendicant seeking the bounty of Allah.

Yes, they send a powerful message. There was another one i was trying to fund but had no luck. It was about brother and sister sitting all dusty in a rubble, the girl (probably around 6-7) has her forehead as in thinking what should i do now while she was holding her little brother (probably 2) close to her. Another heartbreaking was a video i saw taken in china. These poor siblings were standing by a vendor making sweets and were just staring while this rich boy got one from his daddy. It was so sad to see their faces. :(

Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said,

“A Miskeen (needy) is not the one who can be turned away with a date-fruit or two, or a morsel or two. The true Miskeen is one who, despite his poverty, abstains from begging”.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

I saw a kiosk in Turkey with a banner if you're hungry and can't afford bread take it for free!
Wouldn't it be amazing if all Muslims did that fed a hungry instead of feeding the wallets of the kartrashians and gwen Paltrow? حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل

Zakat alone can end poverty in Muslim world, if only people with money stop hording it.

It would be nice if all people accepted responsibility of helping the miskeen.
