Accident of Tucuxi Electric Sportcar

This is prototype of Tucuxi, the electric sportcar that will be produced in Indonesia in 2013. This prototype car is belong to Dahlan Iskan, Minister of Government Companies. This prototype was still in some test, including 1,000 kilometers run test that would be driven by Dahlan Iskan himself.

Before drive this car in 1,000 kilometers run, Dahlan Iskan asked Ki Manteb Sudarsono, a master of Kejawen, Javanese traditional belief, to do Ruwat rite to this car. Ki Manteb did this rite today (Jan 5) which he was bathing this car with 'flower water'. Purpose of this Kejawen rite is to prevent this car from accident.

After the rite has done this morning, Dahlan Iskan drove this car and start the 1,000 Kilometers test. However, when he passed a downhill road, the car brake did not work and it made this car got accident. Dahlan Iskan himself survived, but his Tucuxi electric sportcar got badly damage.

In elecric car the batteries usually are bigger and heavier than the motor itself. I don't know much about this electric car design, but I think its weight distribution is similar as midship engine sportcar.

Actually, before this accident, Dahlan Iskan got complain from danet Suryatama, the Tucuxi designer, an Indonesian who lives and works in USA.

Dahlan was interested to build electric cars in Indonesia. Then he contact Danet and offered him to made a prototype of electric sportcar that will be the Indonesian made electric sportcar. Danet agree, then Dahlan ordered Kupu-Kupu Malam (KKM) auto modifier house in Yogyakarta to build this prototype. Although Tucuxi prototype was built by KKM in Indonesia, some important parts were imported from USA which those parts were invented by Danet himself and have been patented in USA.

Later after the Tucuxi has been built and submitted to Dahlan, without told Danet, Dahlan and a new team that did not involved in Tucuxi making go to KKM and urge KKM mechanic to disassemble the Tucuxi while Dahlan's new team research it part by part. Danet knew it after Dahlan's new team tried to ask his design team about the Tucuxi technology.

Danet felt disappointed because that car was still prototype and its technology was to be kept secret from other parties before entering the market.

This is another story behind Tucuxi.

Yes, Manteb's shayton is not "manteb", and Dahlan should drink this "reject wind" to make him becomes smart person. ;D

Maybe after this accident Dahlan Iskan will back to Ki Manteb and scold him "Hey! Ki Manteb! who said your ruwat is pancen oye??!!"

Tucuxi shape is 'unusual' and .... be honest, look weird. But isn't teardrop shape is the best for aerodynamic?.

And how about this Skev1 (Signal Kastem Electric Vehicle 1) by Signal Kustom modifier house, Bandung?.
