I found this and watched, I believe it will help. Need headphones for Arabic part. Careful with the volume, after the Arabic part it gives a thing that says congratulations with loud music...

as for me, I just told sister there, and she went and grabbed a brother and I said it in front of three sisters and the one brother. Hope it worked out as easy for you as it did for me ~

imsad I didn't make it... so walk me through this... How do I ask for the Iman? After asking for the Iman what happens and do I have to do this in front of people?

From my understanding, you can make your shahada without witnesses, although it is recommended to have witnesses if possible. However, if that is difficult to organize, you can say it without witnesses. I thought you had already done so, actually, but maybe you said it just to practice without the intention of entering Islam. Anyway, you shouldn't delay taking shahada just because you can't find witnesses.

I'll tell you what happened in my case. I made shahada without witnesses and began praying etc. The next day I went to an Islamic centre and asked if I had to do anything else to make it 'official'. They said no, but that if I wanted I could say shahada again at Friday prayers. A sister (who ended up becoming a really good friend) helped me and took me to the masjid. At a certain point the imam asked us to come forward and I repeated the shahada after him (from behind the hijab - no need to leave the women's section).Later that day they gave me a kind of document confirming I had reverted, but to be honest I think you really would only need that if you were going for hajj - it's not essential. The important thing is to take your shahada as soon as you are sure. If you feel nervous in front of so many people but want witnesses you can say it in front of two Muslims.

If you want to say it in front of witnesses you should try to find an Islamic centre where they can help you. If there isn't one, I'd say just go to the masjid find a sister and just tell her your situation. Or get in touch with that sister you met and ask her to help you. But don't worry about it and don't delay if you are sure.

You already know how to pronounce the shahada and the meaning, right? If not we can help you insha Allah.

I'm only speaking from my own experience so I hope someone else will correct me if necessary. All the best.

Salam alaykum

Don´t worry too much about this matters - may Allah makes it easy to you. We are here to help you and support you.

As sister tearose wrote, it is enough if you really want to say shahada because Allah sees what you have in your heart. If it is or feels difficult to find witnesses may Allah accepts your shahada any way.

My personal story about saying shahada was quite similar like sister tearose - no mosques near of my city so I read books and studied enough what to do for shahada and first said it alone. Then later I traveled to other city to mosque and said it again with just two witnesses.

I whish to you the best when you will start your path in Islam.

your sister in Islam, sister harb

Don't be sad sis it's not hard to be muslim in fact its very easy hehe. Just go up to one of the staff members (or anyone who might be a regular there) and tell em you would like to be muslim and I'm sure they can guide you InshaAllah. Do you have any muslim friends? By right, muslims must take care of new converts until they feel they can "stand" on their own.

@shere,

Shahadah is -
the first pillar of Islam is an affirmation of faith, Shahadah is witnessing that No god except one and only one God (Allah), the Creator, and that Muhammad is His messenger.
