Assalam o alikum

Just felt an earthquake here in Karachi was of a high intensity , my bed stated moving n I have a king size bed which one can't move easily gosh it was so scary we all had to rush downstairs.

I'm still v scares have a feeling things r moving slowly is there any dua or anything one could recite

I heard it came in Lahore, Multan and Qatar as well.
 
A magnitude of 7.9 :S

May Allah forgive us all.

The birds kept chirping n as soon as it was over they were all quiet I guess I was the only one who noticed the birds my sis thought I was moving the bed :s

It's just strange everything's quiet now n while the earthquake came the birds subhanAllah.

May Allah :swt: keep you all safe In Shaa Allah.

There isn't any specific duaa prescribed for the time of earthquakes, but we should do similar to what the Prophet :saws: recommended when an an eclipse happens.
  • Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness." Sahih Bukhari
 
Yes we rushed at as everything kept moving real fast Alhumdulilah everything's ok my hearts just beating real fast kept reciting astaghfar its the first time I've experience an earthquake with such high intensity.

I pray tht there r no aftershocks or anything.

Do not return to your building next 4 days. There might be aftershocks of earthtquake.

I make dua to you and all people in there.

Heard it came in Iran as well and forty ppl died. It came in UAE and India as well.

I knew it came from Iran, there were just earhtquake.

Yes I'm ok just still a lil scared :s

At first we didn't even know what was happening daddy was at work he says he didn't feel anything buh the news says everyone felt it.

Sister, I hope you and your family are okay. And I pray for the families who lost their beloved. :(
 
SubhanAllah! we were attending a workshop sitting on a floor on the upper part of the center and the floor started vibrating slowly slowly.. for 3 - 4 seconds we couldn't get whats happening but then someone said its earth quack..
alhamdulillah there was no panic but every one started reading kalima and astaghfar.. and floor continued to move for near half a minute with a break of few seconds between.. we prepared to get out of the building but it was over so workshop was continued. Alhamdulillah it was a gathering for Allah so He (SWT) put peace in our hearts.

when i realized that it is an earth quack and seconds has gone but the floor isn't stopping the images of 9 october 2005 earthquack flashed to me and i thought time to leave the dunya for me has arrived.. i was confused m i ready or not for so but i know that wouldn't matter if the time had really arrived.
alhamdulillah He SWT has given us one more chance...
