A very short Sura from the Quran and yet much to reflect upon.

The Sura itself

A brief explanation by Br Nouman

:sl: JAzkallahkhaira for the vids, awesome stuff from Nouman Ali Khan as always

Jazahka Allah for sharing.

I love the drawings whilst the speaker talks.

Courage to face reality. I hope Allah swa gives us all this strength throughout life. Ameen.

Having the strength and vision to differentiate between REALITY & ILLUSION takes a lot of inner strength and will-power. Consistency in a good deed is what makes Allah swa happy. We can all do a good deed every now and then but being consistent is something we need to work on insha Allah.

It's true when the sheikh mentions we get sleepy and we need to wake ourselves up from this sleep. If we put ourselves in a constant state of worry and panic about dying and earning the good deeds in this life our minds will become conditioned to this and we will always want to count our good deeds and increase. This is what our mind will become pre-occupied about and insha Allah we will die thinking about this. However we spend our lives thinking this is how we will die. Allah swa knows best.

People count calories but we as Muslims should count our good deeds and keep increasing our ibadaah insha Allah.

In the second video there is some incorrect information. At approx. 5:50, the speaker says that "those who believe" means that those who believe in that man is in loss. But that isn't correct. Belief here refers to the correct Islamic faith. A similar statement is given in Surah Tin:
By the fig and the olive
And [by] Mount Sinai
And [by] this secure city [Makkah],
We have certainly created man in the best of stature;
Then We return him to the lowest of the low,
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted.
So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense?
Is not Allah the most just of judges?

(Surah 95)
In both Surahs, believing means believing in the Islamic faith, that is, to have the correct Islamic faith. Thus, according to Surah Al Asr, mankind is in loss except those with the correct Islamic faith who do righteous deeds and advise each other to truth and advise each other to patience.

To believe in what the Qur'an says is a part of Islamic faith; Therefore it is a part of Islamic faith to also believe that mankind is in loss (103) & that mankind was created man in best of stature, then returned to the lowest of the low (095).
