:salam:

We have successfully migrated the forum a new server, Alhamdulillah. Now we are in the process of upgrading it to vBulletin 5.

The forum database is restored back to 10th of Feb, the date when we actually started the migration process. It took almost 3 days for the complete migration to take place. As such, we have lost all the recent posts which were made after the start of the migration process.

Re: Server migration and forum upgrade

:wasalam:

:jz: for your efforts.

I've a question:Are we free to make new posts on the forum right now?

OR We have to wait till the up-gradation process gets completed?

Re: Server migration and forum upgrade

Yes, you can start posting now.

The upgrade process gave some errors and we are discussing it with the web host to solve them soon. The forum will be closed for a short time once again when we try the upgrade process later on but :ia: no posts will be lost.

I don't know if those errors include the forum being completely inaccessible on Firefox (for me at least). Trying to go to www.islamicboard.com gives:

Then I checked my email and it seemed people were replying in threads, so tried IE and realised the forum had been back up and running for some time. I cannot access it through Firefox at all. IB through IE is very slow, though I presume that's because the process still not complete.

السلام عليكم ورØ-مة الله وبركاته Welcome back everyone. Alhamdulillah, the upgrade process is finally completed. We encountered a lot of technical problems during the process and it took much longer than expected. We may still encounter a few problem due to incompatibility issues and inshaAllah we will try to resolve them soon. Please keep informing us of any errors that you come across. Jazakumullahu Khair

Clicking on this link:

http://www.islamicboard.com/faq.php?..._liforum_rules

gives me this message on a new page:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method vB_Template_Runtime::vBVar() in /home3/islamicf/public_html/includes/class_core.php(4490) : eval()'d code on line 76

After a month long process of server migrations and software upgrades, we have finally completed the whole process Alhamdulillah.

The new software does not have all the customizations that we had manually applied in the earlier version so you might notice a few changes here and there. If there are any important customizations which are missing, then please point them to us so that we can try to re-apply them if possible.

We have noticed that the "Anonymous" user account is no longer able to post in the Advice & Support and the Family & Society sections. We are looking into this issue and we will try to fix it as soon as possible :ia:.

We have also noticed that while using Internet Explorer 11 for posting any comments, it asks us to download or save a file instead of posting it directly. This is a known bug in vB 5 and currently we couldn't find any work-around for it except for using a different browser. When it asks you for saving the file, click on cancel to remain on the same thread. Then refresh the thread and you will find that your post was already posted.

Jazakumullahu Khair to all of you for patiently bearing with us during this ordeal. :ia: we will take more care in the future to avoid such delays.

السلام عليكم ورØ-مةالله وبركات جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا for the upgrade I am experiencing the following problems: 1. My browser freezes when I try to post a message using Firefox. 2. How can I access my/ other members' past posts? The search function does not seem to find all posts at present. 3. Is there a web-view option for mobile phones? 4. When posting from a mobile device, spacing between sentences/ paragraphs are lost (as in this post). Shukran وعليكم السلام ورØ-مةالله وبركاته

Currently there's no separate style for mobile users. They see the same style which is used by desktop users. Chrome on Android device works ok for me.
