View Full Version : Fasted whilst being a junub

Asalaamu Alaikum,

My question is regarding the validity of the fasts. If a person enters the state of janabah and remains in that state for a very long time due to a lack of knowledge regarding the ghusl, what would become of his fasts that he did during Ramadan? My understanding is that the prayers would all need to be renewed but would the fasts be considered valid (and I use the term valid here loosely). If possible I'm really looking for the Shafi view on this matter...

JazakAllah Khair.

Wa Laikum Asalaam Wr Wb Sister,

Your fast will remain valid and yes you need to do all the Salaahs again.

Ulema have Ijma on this matter and all 4 Schools have the same ruling.

May Allah make it easy for you, guide you and all of us towards the right path. Ameen
