Salaams all.

Apologies if this website cannot be used for asking for advice and help with health issues.

I've had really bad flu for about 2 weeks. The flu has almost finally gone (Alhamdolillah) but my right ear has gone bonkers. It seems like it needs popping but regardless of how many times I pop it, it ends up going all strange. I've tried yawning and chewing, the ear pops but a few seconds later, it ends up needing another pop. I've tried doing the "close your nose and blow out hard" and the ear pops but it's back to square one a few seconds later.

I've been to the GP and he says to try a nose spray and it should hopefully sort the issue out. He says I have a catarrh and a tube in my ear has been blocked because of it. Obviously I will try this but does anyone know of any Islamic tips and hints on how to sort my ear out? Maybe using some herbs and spices?

I've been getting really dizzy with this ear problem and I have almost toppled over on a few occasions.

Please can someone advise me.

JZK.

Wa'alaikumsalam

I never heard about Islamic tips for ear problem like that, but I've ever got a problem like yours.

It's started when I got influenza, and then when the flu almost gone I felt my right ear was blocked. So I went to Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. After checked my condition I thought the doctor would clean up my ear. But, no!, he just given me medicine for flu. He said it's because I sniffed too strong and caused snot entered the eustachian tube and blocked it. Alhamdulillah, my problem was over few days later after I took that medicine.

Maybe the cause of your ear problem is same as mine.

Salaams Ardianto.

I have the same problem as you. My tubes are blocked up. Hopefully they will clear up soon. I feel so dizzy at the moment. I don't know if I am coming or going.

Thanks for your response. I will keep using the nose spray. Hopefully it will work.

Salam alaykum

That sounds exactly like the ear infection I had a while ago after a bad flu. I don't know if it's available in the UK, but rinsing my nose wich saline solution did the trick for me. Whatever you do though, do NOT take the plane while you're having this problem. I made that mistake and almost tore my eardrum because of that.

Salaams.

Jazakallah for the response.

I went to the chemist as my ear was still playing up a week later, so I was advised to buy some Sudafed tablets and after one tablet, my ear was back to normal. Subhanallah.

Hope your ear is OK now aymericdp.

Hmm interesting method. Wow it has quite a long history even from the mayan empire. Is this method trustful? I heard some people say it's dangerous because of hot wax incidents.
