Pretend as Muslim for polygamy purpose

In mid of 90's there was a big fraud case which one of the perpetrator was a Filipino man who then commit suicide. He had four wives, one in Philippine, three in Indonesia. He married those Indonesian Muslim women in Islamic nikah, but after he died, he buried in Catholic procession.

Yes, this man actually non-Muslim, but he pretend as Muslim to get married with Muslim women in polygamous marriage. And he was not the only non-Muslim who committed this behavior.

Non-Muslim pretend as Muslim to get married with Muslim women in polygamous marriage is a hidden phenomenon that happen in Indonesia.

Strange, normally you meet the husband's relations and know his background, as taking things face value just because someone is saying all the right things wouldn't do.

Also the question of the Muslim woman's male relations-did they not seek information on the groom??

For Indonesian women, family (parents, siblings) are everything. And they can sacrifice themselves for family. Those women come from poor families, and they married those rich men for wealth, to help their families in financial matter.

Yes, sis, poverty can make poor people 'blind'. Those women families actually have 'blinded' by poverty.

This is similar but where Muslims I think were going to Egypt and marrying whilst on vacation, or work but left after a few months.

However there are people who think that poverty is when you don't have the same things as others (ie more money, mobile phones) and not about just the basics ie food, shelter, clothing etc. To them its about having an easier existance, by not having to work, or work a little and get easy money, well we are only here for a short amount of time, and its about working and providing for your needs.

Its no different to some immigration stories I have heard ie about individuals wandering around the EU, then coming to the UK, now they say we are doing what everybody else are doing. No they are not, as no matter what work you do, you try and go back to a home, were you make a life for yourself with others.

Heard about immigrants placing beddings in between urinals as they left their homes in the birth countries. Again its about having a basic standard of living and gradually improving on that. Even the homes that they have in their birth countries are more spacious then what you can get in the UK.

So I don't think that either is the innocent party, of course that doesn't mean that people take advantage of people with a lower standard of living. They are answerable to God All-Mighty.
