All kinds of pictures are prohibited in Islam
According to a hadeeth shareef angels do not enter a house which has pictures or statues.

Another hadeeth says that picture makers shall be in the severest punishment. They will be asked to put soul in the pictures (that they made) but they will not be able to do it, so they will be punished forever.

Another Hadeeth further explains that the earning by selling pork, alcohol or pictures is haram (unlawful). (This was the translation, in my own words, of the three ahadeeth, and Allah knows best the words of HIS prophet salla Allaho alaihi wa sallam).

I believe that these three ahadeeth are sufficient to stop a Muslim from making or keeping or buying/ selling pictures.
Similes (small circles with signs for eyes and mouth etc.) are also pictures, rather more than pictures because electronically these can show actions.

Videos seem to cause more Anger of Allah as they show perfect live human beings or other living things performing action.
We must stop from pictures to protect ourselves from punishment in graves and in the next world after Resurrection from our graves.
An old history book mentioned that the Prophet (Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him) had ordered as:
“Don’t copy the creation of Allah”.
The Muslims then were so obedient that they didn’t make or draw any picture like leaf, flower, sun, moon,stars, clouds, hills, and water etc. they only used to write verses of the Holy Quraan on the walls of their houses. The first people who disobeyed the Prophet (Allah's Peace and Blessings be upon him) in the past, were those who made leaves on carpets in Iran and Turkey.

May Allah give us all Taqwa because each and every one of us will be all alone in grave facing whatever faith and actions did we go with. The dead in their graves cry when the angels beat them with IRON BARS, their cries are heard by all creatures accept the two burdens that is human beings and jinn. May Allah protect us from punishment in graves because graves are the first stage from the stages of the Hereafter. Those whose graves are comfortable, shall be in comfort forever.

God has revealed to you the guidance and laws and has given you an intellect so use them to please Him.

Video and cctv can be used to learn what happened at a given time and place and should be used to please Him and not to anger Him.
Trucks, ships, planes and satellites have them to see above and behind and beneath, all should be utilised to obey and please Him.
Photos help us to see what our grandpa looked like ages later or how our newborn child looks from the other side of the planet. We shouldn't however hang them on walls as that is forbidden by the Messenger of God pbuh since only the angel of death comes within range of such places. It leads to image and ancestor worship in stages with flowers and incense and stuff and the messenger put a stop to it.

Sometimes people use their front facing phone camera to check if their nose is swollen from a bump against a glass door.

Your eyes transmit live motion images to your brain, please don't cast them out too.

If i sound tickled, then this post really tickled me.

But please don't put microchips in people's heads as that harms them and will harm you, if you have done so in the past it was a fitnah, repent and remove the obstacle before the bannister begins to rot - time is of the essence.

And please use your God given intellect to submit to God and obey and please Him.

Some of the Jews got so immersed in legalism that they would wait for ages at a traffic light on saturday and wait for someone else to press the button (i waited and watched for quite a while at stamford hill and one of the goyim spoiled it by coming along and pressing it lol)

Some of the Christians wrongly misinterpreted the rebuke of such type of legalism in absence of God and intellect to mean that all unlawful and unclean foods and acts are ok as long as you make them ok just by thinking it through jesus and that the law of God is just a curse.

God made you a justly balanced nation and gave you the criterion and laws and gave you an intellect and told you to use them all to obey and please Him.
Do that and you will be succesful.

Brother I would be careful with the punishment forever thing just for pictures, be careful as He (swt) loves to forgive.

As such, photographs kept in an album, drawer, computer or disk would be considered acceptable. However, photographs of humans and animals should not be displayed on walls and the like. In other words, simply stated, they are not to be left open for display. It can be viewed but not left for display on frames on desks and walls, for example.
The Scholars have also mentioned caution on the matter that photography should never be frivolous and indulgent, but for genuinely good reasons. Celebration of a wedding is well known as an Islamic Tradition, and so taking videos and photography would be permissible. Indulgence and frivolous photography/videoing includes the modern trends of the youth to take photos of each other in poses, etc, where there is no real essence other than social posing, and the like.
The additional issue arising is that of indulgence in costs for photography in weddings. That being a separate issues, and problem, does lead to many Scholars frowning upon the indulgence in photography where costs are exuberant. Exuberance is usually defined as what exceeds the norms of a society under normal circumstances.
Finally, the matter is a simple one with complicated issues attached to it. As practical advice, avoid photography and videoing unless there are good reasons for it in terms of promoting good, Islamic events, awareness and the like and either minimise or eliminate it for portraiture and posing.
As is the clear principle in Islamic Juridical Science, all valid differences of opinion on a matter amongst qualified body of Scholars should be respected and what one person therefore follows should do so with his or her own conscience, but never criticising others if they take a different valid opinion.

Wa iydhan jazaka Allaho khera, and may Allah bless you for choosing the way of the Pleasure of Allah. In the end of the post I found a picture having animals! Please be careful in the matter of Allah's Commands. Once you understand that a statement is correct and is according to Allah's Command then don't forget to practice it.

May Allah bless us all i.e all of us Muslims, aameen. Please remember that Allah Almighty informed us in HIS Book many times in very clear words that Allah is Oft Forgiving and HE is very Strict in punishment. For e.g. read the last verse of chapter 6 (Al An'am). Moreover it is against wisdom to commit a sin intentionally with the idea that Allah will forgive me. Just imagine a servant whose master is very kind. The master always forgives his MISTAKES. Then the servant starts taking advantage of his master's kind nature and tries to get position equal to his master. Then what will be the attitude of the master?



If this is the case of two human beings, one the master and other the servant, then think about Allah and HIS created man, the man who tries to make/draw things like the creation of Allah. If Allah didn't prohibit us from copying HIS creation then we could take the benefit of HIS forgiveness and could enjoy making pictures. But the matter is very serious. His Prophet's clear ahaadeeth are present in this regard, then why should we put ourselves in danger? Surely everyone of us shall be all alone in the grave. Then which of the scholars will come to rescue us from HIS Terrible Punishment?


As you see the scholars have different opinions in this matter. Why shouldn't we follow those scholars whose opinion is according to the Quraan and Sunnah? We must be sincere to ourselves and must always remember our graves and the Al Aakhirah.
