Just read a fun little overview of one of the early Muslims.
He was called Julaybib and was perhaps deformed or at least very ugly.
The name suggests that he was tiny but he seems to have been a good fighter.

He was killed in a battle after defeating seven men.
The short bio said that Muhammad PBUH took his death really badly and was quoted in the bio as saying "This man is of me and I am of this man".

Anyone know of the original source/s about his story?

You can read about it in the hadeeth. There's a short version in Saheeh Muslim, re: the battle, here: http://www.sunnah.com/muslim/44/188 and a longer version in Musnad Ahmad, covering the marriage too. Its' quoted in the Tafseer of ibn Katheer, here: http://www.qtafsir.com/index.php?opt...1856&Itemid=89

Thank you very much.
I find his story really interesting.

Is that the whole written story of him?
Kind of saddening if there is nothing more.

Yeah, sadly, that is the case for most of the companions of the Prophet (pbuh). Of course, we can't except there to be pages of information about every single companion.
