:sl:

ACN seems to be everywhere these days, they invite you to a large meeting, convince you to join and pay the £300 joining fee. Some of your family and friends may convince you to join it, or even sell the products to you. I'm going to share some useful resources and articles on the permissibility of ACN :ia:.

Asalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuku,

Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim,

I pray you are well.

I have read through the terms and conditions of ACN and studied them in depth.

I have discussed ACN with Muftis who are also experts in Islamic Finance.

We all agree ACN has contractual flaws and hence impermissible. Therefore, it is not permissible to join ACN.

And Allah knows best

I humbly request you make dua Allah grants me acceptance and gives me the most noble of deaths.

223124: ACN and MLM

Question:

Asalamualaikum Sheikh
In London there is a company called acn
http://acninc.com/
http://acneuro.co.uk/

Is this company halal to work in or harram and can you link this with other fatwa related to this.

Jazakallahukhair

Answer:

Praise be to Allah,

We have previously indicated in many answers that it is prohibited to engage in network marketing which imposes subscription fees on the client or obliges him to buy a specific product so that he can market it and take the commission, because it is based on ambiguity and gambling, and because the product here is not intended, but what is intended is to enter the marketing system hoping to earn a big commission.

The point of gambling is that the subscriber pays the fee or the price of a product hoping to attract customers and taking the commission; this may happen or may not happen, and this is gambling.

As for permissible brokerage, it does not require one to pay subscription fees nor to buy an item before its auction.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Mufti Zameelur Rahman (may Allah preserve him) of the Darul Iftaa, recently answered an inquiry regarding “ACN” and stated the following:

“Our conclusion is that while the basic structure of the scheme may be justified according to principles of Sharī‘ah, there are impermissible conditions in the contract which render the entire contract impermissible (fāsid). One such condition is the following: “ACN reserves the right to reduce commissionable revenue by a percentage factor for promotional plans, products, negotiated pricing or certain services.”[1] This unilateral right to reduce the commissionable revenue by a percentage factor without consent from the independent representative renders the remuneration undeterminable,[2] which could lead to argumentation and dispute between ACN and its Representative.”

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

May Allah reward Mufti Amjad Mohammed for spending time and giving 16 pages technical judgement on ACN on basis of Islamic sharia.

Assalamualikum , hope you are well . I am writing this to tell you that you have misunderstood ACN the £479 fee which you have to pay before joining is basically a license which allowes you to do business with ACN as well as this you are given your own website e.c.t that's one thing I'd like to clear up on . Secondly you don't buy anything or any products from ACN . What you have to do is get people to switch to the compnay ACN offer . Why would someone do that? Well ACN has companies which offer cheap prices like gas and electricity and boradband TV deals and better price for home security e.c.t so that's a misunderstanding YOU DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS OFF THEM. It is up to the certain individual how many sales e.c.t he can get and if he does good then he gets his money and comission . And you can't accuirie comission without getting customers . So can you now tell me if this is halal or haraam . If need being I can get you joined to a ACN meeting how it works and what it's about and you can tell me wether it haraam or halal . Jazakallah
