Ibn Taymiyyah:

That a person prefers listening to music above the Quran shows that he is a friend of Shaitaan and not a friend of Allah (he is closer to the devil than he is to Allah)

(al-Furqaan p.55)

Sheikh Al-Albaani (r)

'The people nowadays, unfortunately, follow everyone and anyone who shouts out, they dont think about shariah rulings at all.'

Do not interpret the Qur'an and Hadīth based on your own intellect!
Ibn Taymiyyah [رحمه الله] said:
“And whomsoever explains the Qur'an and Hadīth, and interprets them with an interpretation other than the famous explanations of the Companions and their successors, has lied upon Allāh. He is a wretched deviate with regards to his Qur'anic verses. He misrepresents his speech away from its correct places. This opens the doors to heresy and deviation, and the falsehood of this is known by necessity in Islam.”

Whoever manifests nationalism or theological rhetoric and calls to it, then he has apostated from the the testimony (Shahadah)

So whosoever abandons the wise Shariah which was revealed upon Muhammad ibn Abdullah, the seal of the Prophets, and goes to other abrogated Shariah for judgement, he becomes a kafir. So how about the one who goes to al-Yaasiq (man made laws, the laws of the Tartars which mixed Shariah rulings with invented rulings) for judgement and gives it precedence over the Shariah of Muhammad (SAW). Whoever does this has become kafir by the Ijma of the Muslims

If you want to know whats inside a persons heart, you should listen what comes out of his mouth.

Imam Shafi...

If you on the path towards Allah, then run. If it is hard for you, then jog. If you get tired, then walk. And if you cant, then crawl, but NEVER go back or stop...

Does that mean he/she must always choose the Quran over music and therefore never listen to music or else be judged as being of Satan?
