I would like the input of scholars.

A lot of people think it is permissible to 'hear' music in a video or say like you go to a cinema movie but you're like 'i'm only hearing it' or 'I just want to listen to the narrator'

I think this would make a good thread for scholars give input

for me its like, would you read very beneficial information but behind that text is a picture of a naked woman. You can't just say to me 'I'm not 'looking' but i'm only 'seeing' it' or 'I just want to see the information'

Hearing is involuntary whilst listening is you know there is music going in there.

I would like to know what the scholars think.

No such topics should be in this forum. Such debates should be left to scholars only.

Greetings,

I imagine it's very hard to avoid hearing music entirely in the developed world. Many shops and public buildings have music playing all the time, and, as if that weren't enough, usually it is awful music too.

Peace

What you are trying to say may apply to shopping...etc...there is not a store/restaurant/mall here where you go & not have music blaring.

Given that your objection revolves mainly around music and why it is permissible, here is the clarification for that in the light of fatwa issued bySheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi:.........https://islamictext.wordpress.com/on-music-and-singing-fatwa-by-shaykh-yusuf-al-qaradawi/

this talks mainly about singing, I am talking about some excuses brothers give. Like say you go to a video that YOU KNOW there is going to be musical instruments in there but you're like 'my intention isn't to listen to the music'

I usually mute and turn on subtitles.. but on youtube the subtitles are very poor.....
