Whoever fasts Ramadhan and follows it with 6 fasts of Shawwal, it will be as if he fasted for a whole year. [Sahih Muslim]

There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allaah than these 10 days (first days of Dhul Hijjah) - [Sahih Bukhari]

Fasting on the day of Arafah is an expiation of sins for the previous year and the following year. [Sahih Muslim]

Fasting on the day of Ashura is an expiation of sins for the previous year. [Sahih Muslim]
