Salams, if a person works in a job that involves touching alcohol can they read namaz after doing this or do they need to do ghusl?

Better to ask a scholar. It is fiqh issue. Do you have access to some good scholar ?

Ask spiderman..

His common sense is tingling.

As long as you don't turn up drunk there is probably leeway in the extent of offensivness you offer.

...which makes you think..

Even the drunkard is not excluded.. although it's easy to overlook.

When it comes to alcohol, it's the producing, selling, and consuming that is prohibited. I don't think touching or coming in contact with it invalidates wudhu. It's not necessarily a najis substance, but rather it's impure for our consumption and handling (selling/producing). Allah knows best. Check here: https://islamqa.info/en/171333

I agree with asking a scholar about specifically being in contact with alcohol, but it's best not to work at a place that sells alcohol because that in itself is haram.
