Hajj is performed from the 8th to 12th date of Dhul- Hijja, the last month of the Islamic year. Since the Islamic date calendar is based on the lunar calendar which is based on the moon sightings, the timings of Hajj vary relating to Gregorian calendar that is based on astronomical estimates. Also, the new date of the Islamic year starts after sunset, so the awareness for the Hajj dates to perform all the rituals in true manner is inevitable.
