Another Poem!

Assalamu alaykum

I didn't know what to call this one :D Trying to combat my writer's block.

A vast expanse of blue,
So vast it disappeared beyond the mind's horizon,
I was filled with awe at the canopy hanging above me,
So insubstantial and yet firm,
As blue as the forget-me-nots beneath my head,
Touching the peeks of the mountains,
A land explored by only the wondering birds,
Upheld, without pillars
By He who holds back the sky from falling,
Except by His leave (22:65)
Musa was told,
If He left the earth to itself for even one moment,
The skies would come crashing down,
All words left me,
In awe at His dominion
The Kings of kings,
A sparrow, resting in the birch trees,
Took off with a flutter
To the canopy of blue soaring above us
How small I must look from there
Perhaps invisible,
And the murmuring breeze of realisation
Stirred my thoughts
What would have become of me,
Had my Lord left me at the mercy of my nafs,
And this world and its illusions?
The only reason I was here
In this warm summer evening
Was because He had always been there,
Turning my heart to Him, to His path
Otherwise I'd be nothing but dust
If He left me to myself
For even the most momentary of moments
I would have come crashing down
With more force than the sky above me
And from the depths of my heart
Came a silent dua
O Allah
Don't give myself back to me.

I have heard this story many times :), I think it written in tafsir ibn kathir.
