I am currently transitioning from Christianity to Islam, and am wanting friends to help me on my journey. Sometimes i have questions that i have no one to ask, and it can be very difficult. Ive looked for qurans in english at stores and cannot find one. I also have been looking for scarfs for hijab, and have had no luck. So if you can help me with places to look, that would be great! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.[emoji5]

Salaam aleikum!

If you are in the US, you can request an EXCELLENT learning Qur'an from CAIR (the Council for American Islamic Relations) and pay only shipping ($10). https://www.explorethequran.com/index.php This Qur'an comes with Arabic and English and also has copious notes on understanding the various passages. It's actually in three books in a slipcover case. I highly recommend it for any new Muslim. Alternatively there are many, many English translations of the Qur'an on Amazon, even some for free if you get the Kindle edition. I would really recommend getting a English translation intended for study though, with notations and other interpretation assistance, if you do not have anyone in your area who can help you with this one on one.

I am also currently taking the free classes at Islamic Online University http://www.islamiconlineuniversity.com/ and though I have been a Muslim for a while now (I still consider myself new because I have no one in my area to learn from!) I am starting with the absolute basic classes. I have only been taking them for a short time but so far am very pleased with them and they may be of benefit to you.

Again, if you are in the US, Wal Mart has actually had a LOT of scarves on sale recently that are fitting for basic hijab - at the one near my home they have been on close-out and only $3! If you do not mind ordering internationally, I personally like Simply Islam https://www.simplyislam.com/index.asp for my "one stop shopping Islamic needs".

I hope this is helpful to you, insha'Allah. And though I may not be the best person to ask on this forum, you are certainly welcome to message me at any time and I'll do my best to help you find the answers you need. But by all means, listen to the scholars here over me since I am still a newbie! :D
