Giving charity on someone's behalf..

Asalamu Alaikum:

Charity benefits the deceased if we keep giving it on their behalf..what about giving charity on someone's behalf while they are alive?? Is it permissible for me to give charity on behalf of my parents? (They are alive, Alhamdulillah)

Yes, you may give Sadaqah on behalf of your parents and anyone else, even when they are alive.
