In the class I am taking online, it was specified that if the book contains the Qur'an but the majority of the words are written by man (example, books of Tasfeer) it is no longer considered to be the Qur'an. My copy of the Qur'an is in very large part interpretation and the words of man easily outnumber the words of the Qur'an. In this case, do I still have to make wudu before reading from it?
If the words of the Quran are more than that of the tafseer then it will not be permissible to touch the tafseer book without wudhu; otherwise it will be permissible as long as one does not touch the words of the Quran. And Allah knows best.
