for anxiety and depression? i forgot i even had it, and today i drank two teaspoons. today, i woke up at 4 pm, and took my "morning" dose of pills, (i take two doses per day), felt panicky and sick, and then took the second dose two hours after (the "evening dose") and when that didnt work, i took black seed oil, two teaspoons. is this too much? should i only take 1 teaspoon per day? and is taking pharmaceuticals bad? because i heard an imam at cuma prayer ( at a non gulenist masjid) talking about how the pharmaceutical industry is corrupt and how it doesn't do what's intended, and he said, "sorry to all the doctors here, but it's just the truth"

Greetings and peace be with you Mustafa16;

The fear of the unknown, anxiety and depression are terrible things to live with. When doctors and medication don't seem to work, you could turn to Allah for help.

A few years ago, I had tests done for cancer, about a month later the doctor phoned and said he urgently wanted to see me, it was non – Hodgkin Lymphoma, this was a name I recognised, our friend had this cancer, and died a few months later. I prayed for the wisdom, strength, peace and serenity to do God’s will, whether the cancer was a death sentence, or just an inconvenience. I can only say that from the moment of making this prayer, I have experienced a profound sense of peace, and the thought of cancer has never troubled me for a moment.

Cancer could be a truly worrying process, you wait a month or two for tests, you wait for the results, and you wait for more tests, but the prayer to do God’s will sort of handed the problem to God, and I have never had to worry. I have never once prayed for healing, at the age of 62, the prayer for healing seemed too complicated, it might or might not be my time to go. Recognising this profound sense of peace comes from God, gives me reason to be thankful.

I could not imagine this sense of peace without a faith and trust in God. I can say, from the moment of hearing about my cancer and making that prayer, I could talk about cancer in the same way as I talk about what’s for dinner?

I can remember my first visit to an oncologist, my wife was nervous and worried, the doctor was fussing about, he kept wanting to know how I was. I can only remember having a sense of peace while all this was going on, the doctor wanted to give me a thick leaflet all about the cancer, but I said I would never read it.

In the spirit of praying for a peace that transcends all our understanding.

I used to have Black Seed Oil capsules - and take two a day. One in the morning, one at night.
In fact, I should get back onto those!

You shouldn't take black seed oil like this and neither should you take it long term. It's very strong and that dose (2tsps) is too much and can even cause u harm if u aren't balancing it with the appropriate diet alongside because it's very warming.

I can't tell you specifically because I do not know your case history but generally speaking, one can take half a tsp daily for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference. Personally I prefer the seeds mixed with honey. For your anxiety there r many factors which need to be taken into consideration in order to treat it fully - not just black seed. But if u do wish to try the seed, have it in a green cooling smoothie (cucumber celery Apple etc).
