Salam brother,
I like to suggest someways when I use ,if I felt stress overloaded on my brain.
Very best way is listening to the holy quran first. The quran is the shifa so before finding a doctor firstvstep should be bow to Allah. Yes!do sajdha if you feel something depressed.

And I will start to read hadeeses and quran and zikr.

If you have or will feel to mad for women. It is better to find a wife for you. It is not only the depression it is your waswas too. It is the best way rasoolullah (s) shows us to stay away from haram relationships and having a wife will decrease your depression if she is a rightous.

I have a lot to be depressed about, seriously. But from a very young age I found being depressed was a useless thing. It starts with hurt, then perhaps leads to frustration, and maybe even made worse by feeling of powerlessness (see how it escalates) and eventually to the feeling of resignation and 'nobody wants me' or 'nobody understands me' starts to fill your head. Getting depressed just further reinforces these negative feelings.

I went about beating these negative self thoughts by acquiring my life's skills, broadening my horizon and learning new things progressively. Not only did it allow me the chance to meet new people, get new ideas, share and discuss different topics, I also over time got involved with a variety of different activities. Not only did I develop as a person, I also realised how skills i learnt from one area can also be applied to other areas. In the course of developing new interests and stuff I will faced challenges and made decisions, good ones and bad ones, I learnt. What I also learnt (indirectly) was the realisation of growing as a person when I dealt with the bad decisions I made.

Really, I have found that I have no time for being depressed. It is just a feeling of 'hurt', it should go away like pain. If it doesn't then it is just me aggravating the injury, like running on a broken ankle or more specifically, me feeling sorry for myself!

But then again, this is just my opinion.

It's a great thought. But sometimes low Iman or some sickness may cause it. I suffered from anemia last year and I felt odd always and felt stress on everything. Just like.

As you said, low on iman, then you know it, need to do something about it. And yes, sickness, being resigned to that definitely helps depression set in...

I am asthmatic. But it took me a very long time to build my level of fitness in order to participate in sports, when everyone played I just sat watching and when I was just starting to join them, nobody picked me in their team. I felt left out when I couldn't play, I was actually not wanted when I was able to play. How great! Did I give up and become a 'ventolin' addict? NO!

I got better! Physically, skills, and ended up also playing other sports.

Salam.
@greenhill
I see dry words on your post without the name of Allah the Almalik!!!

I too had such problems and seizure but I used to read books, could not do anything with my body. It means no energy and by my medicine I felt like half sleepy. Till I leave my school I was like that. But I take 1st rank even and could be a talented student. Now I am a poet and writing for a famous magazine.and I publish blogs too.

It's not by my physical character but spiritually I got power. So we should try think in Islamic way too. If you tell that your mind gave you an energy it is half. Other half is from Allah. My brain is too like a machine, always think on that way. But If I will not seek help from Allah(s) what would be happened to me? Will I write here or will suffer autism on a bed?

So when you are talking about you you should try to understand that. If you have something today it is from Allah and If he likes he has a right to take it too.

So when you think about your strenth dont forget to remember Allah the rabbalAlamin.

Thank you @Shahi

As you very correctly said, nothing happens without the Will of Allah. The fact that I was born, the fact that I still live and blessed or challenged, is all by His Permission. That is already a given.

What I was addressing there was about depression and what you can do about it. I am not referring to 'in syaa Allah', or qada/qadar or anything religious. Just straight and pure depression and why I have found myself feeling that it is a waste of time (again it is all Allah the AlMighty's inspiration to me. Thank the Lord! And thank Him again that He made me realise this from a young age and for Him to give me strength and patience to pursue developing myself and that He also gave me the ability to gain the necessary skills and that He made me mature enough to have these kinds of thoughts that tells me that I won't be good at it immediately but I could definitely be competent over time).

I hope it is not so dry any more :embarrass

Depression comes from Shaytaan. It is his job to make you upset and he will keep reminding you the bad things happened to your past.

Whenever Shaytan reminds your past, keep remind him about his future :D

There are several different reasons which may cause depression. Because of this, there are also many different kind of ways how to cure it. For example some sort of medicines, inflections, diseases or stress in life may cause it. I would prefer to leave it to doctor to find the right treatment.
