I was shocked when I read that Cain and Abel knew how to make food, fire, etc. Cain started building cities and Noah knew how to build a boat.

Didnt Noah technology was better since his boat survived a flood but Titanic didn’t survive a crash?

Allah taught Adam a.s. lots of thing, things even the Angels didn't know. Of course he would know how to make food and live like a modern family and teaching his kids the same. you are thinking of western evolutionary concept of mankind in that they were cavemen who didn't know anything and later on people became civilized.

Noah was instructed by Allah on how to make the ark and Allah saved that ship from the flood. The titanic people were arrogant, bragging that "even God can't sink this" because it's so big and Allah destroyed it.

They had bodies that ate food and were not immortal so it follows that they knew or learned how to eat, and in order to eat - they would obviously know how to prepare food.
Most dry items heat up fast when rubbed together so it isn't impossible that Adam learned how to put two and two together.

If you are referring to Cain (qaabil) the son of Adam and brother of Abel - which it is most natural to presume, it is highly unlikely that he built a city let alone cities since the manpower wasn't there.
Abraham :saws: built on the foundations of a sacred House that would be a city center in the future - they are not the same.

Settlement hierarchy

The population of a city is between 100,000 and 300,000 people.
Large town – a large town has a population of 20,000 to 100,000.
Town – a town has a population of 1,000 to 20,000.
Village – a village is a human settlement or community that is larger than a hamlet but smaller than a town.

Boats existed at the time, Noah :saws: was sent with a mission by Allah :swt: and needed the ability of reasoning for his task, and since he was truthful and sincere, he could arrive at accurate conclusions when it came to problem solving. The previous scripture informs us that he was guided by the Creator of the universe throughout the construction process and the Quran confirms that it was done under Allah's watch and with His blessing. There is nothing to be surprised about there.

It's not ONLY a question of technology when it comes to overall success, there are a host of requirements that must be fulfilled for a project to ultimately succeed - angering God is not one of them.

.....

Are you getting your talking points from donald trump or something? If so next time you meet him, request that he reads chapter 74 of the Quran and ponders in detail AND overall.

Here's a joke he can tell his dumb blondes:

Why did the model stare at the orange juice carton?
...
...
...
Because she saw the word "concentrate" on the cover.

.
. P . S
.
.
.......Though he'd do good to concentrate when reading the Quran instead of trying to squeeze the oranges.

I don't think technology wise they were as advanved but sometimes simpler is better.

Hello. So do you accept the Noah's Flood?

Good catch! :shade:

No, I don't, of course. So I suppose what I should have said is: technology certainly was not better in the time when Noah's flood is said to have taken place.

I will say that the Qur'an's account seems more realistic to me than the Biblical account in one aspect, since it doesn't say the flood covered the entire world.

Peace

If you were to take the Divine guidance out of the picture, surviving a flood and survivng a crash are two different things.

We have no real evidence to show us if and what kind of technology was available, just theories a la ancient aliens lol. I like to imagine that there was, and every time a people were destroyed they probably were very advanced and subsequently became arrogant and deviant, hence, their destruction.
The titanic was called "The Unsinkable" and who remembers "The challenger"? Who was the challenger challenging exactly? ^o)

interesting topic.
