Asalamu alaikum rahmatulah wa barakatu

Ok so there's this app called dreamlab. It uses your smartphone to solve problems for cancer research scientists. You can still use your phone but while it's charging overnight it works in the background solving equations

i thought this was pretty cool so i thought id share it with you guys

Download the DreamLab app to use the power of your Smartphone to fast track cancer research.

Cancer affects so many of the people we love. But what if you could help by speeding up cancer research, simply by going to bed. Researchers are hindered by limited access to supercomputers. So that’s where you and the DreamLab app come in. It’s a free to purchase app* that uses the processing power of your idle phone to solve a piece of the cancer research puzzle. If just 1,000 people used the app, cancer puzzles would be solved 30 times faster.
For Vodafone Australia and new zealand customers, the data used for solving research problems is totally free on the Vodafone network in Australia (but if you’re also contributing over WiFi, you’ll be charged as per your WiFi plan), however other functions in the app might use a very small amount of data which you will be charged for. Roaming incurs international rates.
If you’re not, you’ll use data from your mobile or WiFi plan, but don’t worry it’s small and you can choose your monthly limit. Download the DreamLab app from Google Play. Then simply charge your phone and wake up knowing you’ve helped find new ways to treat cancer.

just search dreamlab in google play, set the amount of data you want to donate a month (like 100mb etc) and bam your phone helps in the research
this inshaallah will count as sadaqah for you so please share
jazak allah khair for reading

I just saw this post and I went on the play store to check it out. It still deals with cancer but right now with corona research. Plugged my phone in and hope this contributes somehow to something greater. Thank you for sharing this. Stay blessed!

Greetings and peace be with you eesa the kiwi;

I don't think you can research prayer, but this was my experience.

In 2011 I had tests done for cancer, about a month later the doctor phoned and said he urgently wanted to see me, it was non – Hodgkin Lymphoma. This was a name I recognised, our friend had this cancer, and died a few months later. Being told I had cancer was out of my hands, there was nothing I could do about it. But I still had choices; I could dictate how the cancer was going to affect my mind and my ability to cope with the news.

A few minutes after putting the phone down; I prayed for the wisdom, strength and peace to do God’s will, whether the cancer was a death sentence, or just an inconvenience. I can only say that from the moment of making this prayer, I have experienced a profound sense of peace, and the thought of cancer has never troubled me for a moment.

Cancer could be a truly worrying process, you wait a month or two for tests, you wait for the results, and you wait for more appointments. I have never once prayed for healing, at the age of 62, the prayer for healing seemed too complicated, it might or might not be my time to go. Recognising this profound sense of peace comes from God, gives me reason to be thankful.

I could not imagine this sense of peace without a faith and trust in God. I can only say, from the moment of hearing about my cancer and making that prayer, I could talk about cancer in the same way as I talk about going shopping.

In the spirit of praying for the wisdom to do God's will,
Eric
