We often see non Muslims here questioning hadd punishments and various other aspects of Sharia, and we see Muslims trying to explain them in so many different ways. The truth is, non-Muslims will never understand why we follow Sharia. Why? Because they don't know whose commands we follow. They don't know who Allah is. They don't know the Greatness of Allah :swt:.
A person cannot understand importance of a command without knowing who the commander is. Imagine driving on the road and someone flashing his head lights from behind asking you to stop. You probably would try to ignore him and get away from him as fast as possible. But the moment you realize that it is a traffic police car, you will slow down and stop. Because now you've understood the power of the commander. You realise that the person behind you is someone in authority.
The same way, no matter how much we try to make them understand, they won't get it at all. The only way to make them understand is to explain them who Allah :swt: is. The first step in Da'wah is to introduce Allah to people. When they know who Allah :swt: is, then it becomes very easy for them to understand and fulfill His commands.
