Salaam

I heard a Hadith where the Prophet said that someone who is arrogant wont see paradise. Was this an exaggeration? Because I thought only kufr and shirk send you straight to hell

Let us try our best to not be arrogant or prideful. It will pay good.

It was narrated that Abdullah said:
"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'No one will enter Paradise who has even a mustard-seed's weight of arrogance in his heart, and no one will enter Hell who has even a mustard-seed's weight of faith in his heart.'" (Sunan Ibn Majah)

Abdullah narrated:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a speck of pride (arrogance) in his heart, shall not be admitted into Paradise. And whoever has a speck of faith in his heart, shall not be admitted in to the Fire.'" He said: "So a man said to him: 'I like for my clothes to be nice, and my sandals to be nice?' So he said: 'Indeed Allah loves beauty. But pride is refusing the truth and belittling the people.'" (jami'at-Tirmidhi)

It was narrated from Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Anyone whose soul leaves his body and he is free of three things, will enter Paradise: Arrogance, stealing from the spoils of war, and debt.” (Sunan Ibn Majah)

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Pride is my cloak and greatness My robe, and he who competes with Me in respect of either of them I shall cast into Hell-fire. It was related by Abu Dawud (also by Ibn Majah and Ahmad) with sound chains of authority. This Hadith also appears in Muslim in another version. (Hadith Qudsi)

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The main source of disbelief is in the east. Pride and arrogance are characteristics of the owners of horses and camels, and those bedouins who are busy with their camels and pay no attention to Religion; while modesty and gentleness are the characteristics of the owners of sheep." (Sahih al Bukhari)

Also in the Qur'an, Surah Al-Kahf 32-43, Allah tells us the consequences of arrogance

:wa:

I hope it's only an query and not a try to reject this hadith.

Bro, kuffar will go in hell permanently whereas arrogant Muslims will go in hell for a certain period for purification of their souls.

Eventually, every Muslim will be placed in jannah.

..he threw mankind out also.

Sometimes we can't even control the things we say and do.

May Allah swt guide us to good character, steadfastness and peace in our lives..

Because you never know what the other guy is going through.

lol, yeah your right.

from quran 20.

And so they ate from it; whereupon their bodies became visible to them, and they started covering themselves with the leaves of the Garden. Thus Adam disobeyed his Lord, and fell.

122. But then his Lord recalled him, and pardoned him, and guided him.

123. He said, “Go down from it, altogether; some of you enemies of some others. But whenever guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance, will not go astray, nor suffer.

124. But whoever turns away from My Reminder, for him is a confined life. And We will raise him on the Day of Resurrection blind.”

125. He will say, “My Lord, why did You raise me blind, though I was seeing?”

126. He will say, “Just as Our revelations came to you, and you forgot them, today you will be forgotten.”

127. Thus We recompense him who transgresses and does not believe in the revelations of his Lord. The punishment of the Hereafter is more severe, and more lasting.

..hard thing to be constantly wrong :/
