This story has been on my mind for some years now and only now I’m somehow deciding to write it.

Being up front about it I will say that I like it and find it plausible but I’ve only come across it once and I cannot for the life of me remember when and from who, exactly.

The story starts with Solomon (pbuh) on his travels where upon he comes across a place and stated that in the distant future there will come a prophet greater than himself. Overhearing this statement, one of the men asked in astonishment (considering that Solomon pbuh had powers over so many things and creatures) and Solomon, under no uncertain terms, replied that he would be a lowly shoe boy (or something like that).. and that person asked if Solomon knew where the spot might be that this prophet would reside which Solomon did and so he decided that he would would build his dwellings there and wait for the arrival of this prophet Solomon pbuh was talking about.

Then we have the story of the arrival of the prophet Muhammad to Medina and how the camel chose the dwelling. This family has waited over generations since Solomon?

Are the stories really related?

Asalaamualaykum

No they very unlikely related : Consider the following:

1. As far as we know all or most of the Nabis/Rasools before the Beloved Rasool SAW informed the people of the coming of Rasool SAW.

2. The Camel stopped at Ayub Al Sari (RA) house. Ayub Al Ansari was actually a distant relation to Rasool (SAW). A distant cousin so to speak.

3. The pagan Arabs in their idol worship did not understand the concept of a Nabi/Rasool as many thousands of years have passed since Ismail AS. So they basically forgot the concept of a prophet. Note: This was one of the issues other than leaving idol worship, was the very fact they rejected and failed to comprehend the concept of a Nabi.

4. One the miracles of the life of Rasool SAW was that Allah bestowed him with knowledge that of which the pagan Arabs did not know - and that is the knowledge of Yusuf, Eesa, Sulainman etc etc - So if you saying that a family was settled in the Arab land (in this case Madina )waiting for the prophet SAW then that entire miracle is thrown in the dustbin. Hence it is almost impossible that an Arab pagan family had knowledge of that and was resident in the Arabian peninsula at that time and time before his birth.

5. Point number 4 is a famous understanding by millions of Muslims that when the Jews and some Christians asked Rasool SAW about previous Nabis/Rasools : They were shocked themselves that he being a Adnani Qurayshi would even know that.
