And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, upright, and keep up prayer and pay the Zakaah, and that is the right religion.

[Qur'aan 98:5]

Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:

Indeed, there was a man who had never done any good but he would lend to people and say to his messenger: Take that which can easily be paid back and leave what is difficult. And let them off (in hope that) perhaps Allaah will let us off.

When he died, Allaah said: Have you ever done any good?

He said: No, except that I had a young lad, and I used to lend to people. When I sent him to collect the debts, I would say to him: Take what can be paid back easily and let go of that which is difficult. And let them off (in hope that) perhaps Allaah will let us off.

Allaah said: I have let you off

Sunan al-Nasaa'i Hadiith No. 4694

This hadiith shows the importance of sincerity. It shows how important ikhlaas is in our deeds. We must do everything only for the Sake of Allaah alone.

Even a small deed, when done with sincerity, can be sufficient to save us from the Fire.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu alayi wa sallam) as saying:

No one gives Sadaqa of a date out of his honest earning, but Allah accepts it with His Right Hand, and then fosters it as one of you fosters the colt or a young she-camel, till it becomes like a mountain or even greater.

Sahiih Muslim Hadiith No. 1014

Narrated `Aisha:

The most beloved action to Allah's Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly.

Sahiih al-Bukhaari Hadiith No. 6462

Do not aim for quantity. Aim for quality.

Make sure every deed you do is done with utmost sincerity to please Allaah only.

Then, even your small deeds will bring you massive dividends.

Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived.

Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.

Qur'ān 11:15-16

Those who seek only this life and strive for it will be given their rewards here. They will have nothing in the next world.

Allāh says:

"...And among the people is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world," and he will have in the Hereafter no share."

Qur'ān 2:200

The Arabs in the past would only make Dua for worldly things such as cattle, camels, and other worldly things. They did not make Dua for the next world because they did not believe in it.

The believers get rewarded for their deeds in both worlds. The one who does good only for the sake of Allah gets rewarded in this world and the next

Allah says:

But among them is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

Those will have a share of what they have earned, and Allah is swift in account.

Qur'ān 2:201-202

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "When an infidel accomplishes any good deed, he is rewarded for it in this world; and in the case of a Muslim, Allah stores up his good acts for him in the Hereafter and provides him with subsistence in this life due to his obedience."

Another narration is: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, "Allah does not wrong a believer a good deed because he is given blessings for it in this world and will be rewarded for it in the Hereafter. But the infidel is given in the world the reward for good deeds, he has performed for the sake of Allah and when he comes to the Hereafter, there is no good deed for which he can be rewarded".

One hadith tells us how important surah Ikhlas is in pleasing Allah and seeking forgiveness from him. It helps you to get love and protection of Allah.
“If anyone recites two hundred times daily, Qul huwallahu Ahad the sins of fifty years will be wiped out unless he is in debt.” (Tirmidhi)
Surah Ikhlas also helps eradicate poverty and bring blessings of Allah in your home. The Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) once said:
“Whoever reads Surat qul hu-wallaahu ‘Ahad when he enters his house, poverty will be eradicated from the family of that household and neighbors.”
The Holy Prophet once advised a man to say Salaam and recite Surah Ikhlas upon entering his home. In a few days, it was observed that the man got rich.
The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also encouraged the recitation of Surah Ikhlas when someone is on his deathbed as it increases the presence of angels at this time.
All these ahadith tell us the importance of Ikhlas for the Muslims.
