Salaam everyone.

I am not sure why this "reputation system" is in an islamic website? Like what is the point of this? I feel like it generates pride if looking at how much rep number, aren't we supposed to share some of our useful knowledge to people for sake of Allah

This is really odd and strange, it would be better if it was removed from the website, so that we don't feel proud.

Please don't rep me or like my posts.

JazakAllah.

:salam:

The likes and reps encourage people to keep posting beneficial posts. It is not for show off and I don't think anyone should feel proud of their likes or reputation.

These numbers also help in identifying long time contributors to the forum.

There is a hadith that says if someone immediately praises someone for a good deed they done, that is an approval from Allah :)

So 'likes' can be considered as an approval from Allah :)

Thank you for the answer. And what's the hadith and is it authentic?

JazakAllah
