Abusive husband.

I am very much in trouble. I was married at age 22 and have 3 kids. I got divorced 5 yrs back. Then re married to a guy who promised to take care of me n my kids. He had an ismaili wife before. When he came to know that nikkah with her was not jaiz then he married me making a new start. Now things were good in the start but now for the last 3 yrs he keeps abusing and beating me. I am so scared that i can't express this fear here. I sent my kids to their father because of this fear. Now i keep my phone on 911 speed dial and i dont sleep whole night . I m getting totally crazy and mental. Is there any dua which can make him soft . I cant leave him because back home my mom is old n widow and she thinks that i m very happily married(which i m not).

Sister are you in California? They have good extensive domestic abuse programs. I am not sure if it extends to other states. Is there a masjid nearby? I truly am sorry and I will may dua for you. No person deserves to be abused. Is there anything you need us to do? Sister if there comes a time if that man harms you or your children...you need to contact the police. First before doing that try other methods...warn him. if that doesnt work..then contact the imam or mosque nearby. And if they do not help you...then call the police. Let us know if you need anything.

I am glad you have sent your kids away for their own safety, now you can work on your own safety.

Maintain your ibadah and increase it - salah, dhikr, dua, read Qur'an, good deeds - all that will get you closer to Allah and His Mercy.

May Allah grant you ease and solution and protection. InshaAllah your children and their father will be protected as well.

If you fear your safety then you have to leave! Make du'a but from a place of safety. There's no reason for you to stay in a relationship where it crosses boundaries of safety.
