Assalamu alaikum,

For some time I'm going through deep sadness, paralyzing kind of it, like a depression. The reason might sound funny to you all, but I really need to share it with you.

So, the reason why I'm so depressed is sudden realization of all of current suffering in this world by millions of living beings. Wars, hunger, torture, killings... Whatever you buy, there's suffering behind, or a death of someone and not excluding children. Then Yemen, China... I watched some difficult documentaries and seems like normal humans move on after that, but I can't.

I walk down the street, I look at the people and I see horrors behind every single thing they're using: phone, jacket, sweater

I know this is Dunya, I know it's all going to end... I know it's always been like this, since the beginning... But I just can't move on. I spent 3 days with Quran, trying to get better and it's so hard.

Assalamu Alaikum

I understand how you feel. What can help sometimes is just helping others in need when you can, and realizing that Allah has promised to test us in this worldly life. Many suffering people are well better off than we are and will triumph over us in the afterlife. Also we do need a little friction in our lives to overcome bigger obstacles otherwise we are just stagnant, and stagnancy can easily turn into declination, and it's not until we hit that rock bottom and are humiliated that we can dig ourselves out of our problems and find success. So I guess you can say that when you see suffering and problems in the world, you are seeing people in the midst of their worldly tests. When it comes to oppressed people however, Allah is looking after them, don't worry. Even if they are in pain right now, it is all very temporary in the end with big rewards inshallah. The oppressed are never left unheard or unanswered. Do what you can in helping, making du'a, bringing awareness, and leave the rest to Allah. You shoot the arrow, and it's in Allah's hands if it hits the target.

Thanks... Sometimes I wish Judgment day is tomorrow, it'll end all oppressions, all injustice... And sometimes I don't even think about myself... Allah is so patient, if He wasn't the Judgment Day would happen long time ago.
