There's a very useful article that I would like to share with you people - regarding the importance and benefits of reciting Durood Sharif (sending blessings upon our beloved prophet (SAWS)).

You must be very well aware of the verse no. 56 from Surah Al-Ahzab, in which Allah commands the believers to send blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS).

Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.

Durood e Ibrahim is considered the most authentic and prominent Durood. One of the quickest ways to send the blessings upon our Prophet (SAWS) is to recite the short Durood which is Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Sayyidinā Muḥammadin Wa ālihi Wa Sallim.

There's a very popular Hadith in this regard:

‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: “Whoever supplicates Allah to exalt my mention, Allah will exalt his mention ten times.” – [Muslim]

Subhan Allah, just imagine the rewards for reciting Durood 100 times every day. :) There are plenty of other benefits, do check the article listed below.
