1835 (page 41 of Weekly Register, Vol. 49) we find this
passage:
a. “The Rothschilds are the wonders of modem banking. Sprung from that poetic, that ancient, that mysterious race, from whom we all derive our religion and half of our civilization, we see the descendants of Judah, after a persecution of two thousand years, peering above kings, rising higher than emperors, and holding a whole continent in the hollow of their hands. The Rothschilds govern a Christian world. *Not a cabinet moves without their advice.* They stretch their hand, and with equal ease, from Petersburgh to Vienna, from Vienna to Paris, from Paris to London, and from London to Washington. *Baron Rothschild, the head of the house, is the true king of Judah, the prince of captivity, the Messiah so long looked for by this extraordinary people. He holds the keys of peace and war, blessing or cursing* .
*To what will all of this lead*?
*Is the holy city to be rebuilt*? - *the third temple to rear its turrets to heaven* ?
No. The lion of the tribe of Judah, Baron Rothschild, possesses more real force than David- more wisdom than Solomon.
What do they care for the barren seacoast of Palestine?
They are the brokers and counsellors of the kings of Europe, and of the republican chiefs of America. What more can they desire? We understand that an accomplished and beautiful daughter of this house, is married to an American, and intends to soon make New York her permanent residence. The beauty of Judah is not departed, nor is the strength of the House of Israel weakened.

The back page has two interesting articles, one with historic relevance. Under the heading, "JEWISH HOSPITAL," is an article mentioning seed money being provided by Baron Rothschild for the establishment of a Jewish hospital in Jerusalem, under the condition that a school for both sexes be annexed to it. Approximately 10 years later this would lead to the establishment of the very first hospital in Jerusalem: the Meir Rothschild Hospital (Mayer de Rothschild Hospital). Quite historic.
Also included is a brief but interesting article headed: "DAGUERREOTYPE." See images for details.
Complete in 16 pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, very nice condition and measures.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."

Baron Rothschild: the first Jew to become a member of Parliament...

Page 2 has a column headed: "Baron Rothschild in Parliament". This is a very notable report, as it gives the account of the formal seating in Parliament of Rothschild as its first Jewish member.
Baron Lionel Rothschild was a British Jewish banker, politician and philanthropist who was a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family of England. He became the first practicing Jew to sit as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. It wasn't until the Jews Relief Act of 1858 which allowed a change in the oath, allowing him the omit the phrase "...and I make this declaration upon the true faith of a Christian."

Baron Edmond de Rothschild & Palestine
Until his death in 1934, Baron Edmond de Rothschild (1845-1934) provided support for Jewish colonists, overseeing dozens of new colonies, earning the name 'The Benefactor'.
A strong supporter of Zionism, his most outstanding achievements were involved in responding to the threats facing the Jewish people in Europe in the late 19th century
by supporting massive land purchases and underwriting Jewish settlements in Palestine and Israel. Edmond's large donations lent significant support to the movement during its early years, which helped lead to the establishment of the State of Israel. In the 1880s, in his goal for the establishment of a Jewish homeland, Edmond’s philanthropy funded Jewish settlements and encouraged the development of agriculture and industry. 'The Benefactor', as he was known provided support for Jewish colonists, overseeing dozens of new colonies. Rishon le Zion (the First in Zion) was followed by others bearing the names of his parents. Edmond stimulated the economic development of the settlements by investing in new crops, such as wine, grapefruit and avocado, and industrial enterprises such as silk production; he played a key role in Israel's wine industry. Under the supervision of his administrators in Ottoman Palestine, farm colonies and vineyards were established, and two major wineries were opened in Rishon le Zion and Zikhron Ya'akov. Edmond paid his first visit to the colonies in 1887, to inspect the progress that had been made in the first five years.
In 1899, responsibility for the Rothschild settlements was transferred to form the Palestine branch of the Jewish Colonisation Association, which had been founded in 1891 by the Bavarian philanthropist Baron Maurice de Hirsch to help Jews from Russia and Romania to settle in Argentina. Baron de Hirsch died in 1896 and thereafter the JCA began to also assist the Jewish settlement in Palestine. At the end of 1899, Edmond transferred title to his colonies in Palestine plus fifteen million francs to the JCA.
In 1924, the JCA branch dealing with colonies in Palestine was reorganised by Baron Edmond as the Palestine Jewish Colonisation Association (PICA), under the direction of his son, James de Rothschild (1878-1957). PICA acquired more than 125,000 acres (50,586 ha) of land and established a range of business ventures. As well as offices in Palestine, PICA had offices in Paris. After the 1929 Palestine riots PICA helped to rehabilitate agricultural colonies that had been damaged.
When Edmond died in Paris in 1934, he left a legacy which included the reclamation of nearly 500,000 dunams of land and almost 30 settlements. In 1954, his remains and those of his wife Adelheid were brought to rest at Ramat Hanadiv in Zikhron Ya'akov. After Edmond's death, his son James de Rothschild (1878-1957) presided over the affairs of PICA. In his will of 1957, James instructed that PICA should transfer most of its land in Israel to the Jewish National Fund. On December 31, 1958 PICA agreed to vest its right to land holdings in Syria and Lebanon in the State of Israel. Edmond and James' determination to continue to support Israeli institutions was carried out after their deaths by James' widow, Dorothy (1895-1988), who founded Yad Hanadiv.
Jacob, 4th Lord Rothschild has followed the family's charitable interests in Israel and is the chairman of Yad Hanadiv, the family foundation which gave the
Knesset
and
the Supreme Court buildings
to Israel.

Dear Lord Rothschild,
I have much pleasure in conveying to you, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, the following declaration of sympathy with Jewish Zionist aspirations which has been submitted to, and approved by, the Cabinet.
"His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country."
I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.

Juden Raus! (lit. "Jews Out!") is a cross and circle-style game published in Germany by Günther & Co. in 1936.[3][4] The game was advertised as "entertaining, instructive and solidly constructed".[5] The game's equipment includes a pair of dice, a game board, and several game piece figurines with large pointed hats meant to represent Jews.[6]

Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their "Jews" across the map toward "collection points" outside the city walls for deportation to Mandatory Palestine.[7] Written on the game board, it says "If you manage to send off six Jews, you’ve won a clear victory!"
