Assalamalaikum, what can a Muslim do when he made dua that Allah may test him on a harsh manner, because he was sure to be steadfest due to his iman? Of course this happend because of wrong understanding of islam and psychological issues and stupid youth mindset. Can this be reversed when this muslim is experiencing such severe tests now that almost take the iman of the heart and even bring shirk thoughts in the heart? Any advice is appreciated

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته

Allah سبحانه وتعالى is the Most Merciful, He is the Hearer of all supplications and Responds to the one in distress. So turn to Allah سبحانه وتعالى and ask Him to grant you steadfastness and ease your affairs. Have good thoughts about Allah سبحانه وتعالى and do your best to get closer to Him through good deeds. Remember that after difficulty comes ease.

May Allah ease your difficulties, rectify all your affairs and keep you steadfast upon the Straight Path, Ameen.

He has a hard time having good thoughts of Allah and doubting his mercifulness. He is being tested in a regard of basic needs that cannot be fulfilled, because of rulings that Allah has made. He's feeling tortured and punished even thought he tried very hard being close to Allah in the past.

One of the reasons for having such doubts is a lack of knowledge regarding Allah سبحانه وتعالى. One of the best ways to learn about Allah سبحانه وتعالى is to study and reflect over the meanings of the Qur’an; by doing this, the Mercy and Generosity of Allah سبحانه وتعالى will become more and more evident, and a person will realise that he is actually surrounded by blessings of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

If a person is struggling with regards to basic needs, he should realise that Allah سبحانه وتعالى gives and withholds from whomsoever He pleases, according to His Knowledge and Wisdom. One should turn to Allah سبحانه وتعالى and ask Him of His bounty. But it is wrong to blame rulings of Allah or allow oneself to be deceived by shaytan into thinking that Allah سبحانه وتعالى wants to torture him. It seems there is an incorrect understanding of trials here. Being righteous doesn’t mean a person will not be tested, and being tested doesn’t necessarily mean one is being punished. Look at the lives of the Messengers عليهم السلام who were the best of humanity and yet they went through the most difficult trials.

Learn more about Allah سبحانه وتعالى and about Islam. إن شاء الله this will help you to develop a better mindset and understanding.
