Assalamu Alaikum

What is the basis for translating the Arabic word inkidar in Quran 81: 2

Translated by Dr Munir Munshey

And the stars are rendered dim and dusty

I am asking only in relation to the word dust not dim
Because I have seen just one more translation associating 81:2 with dust

All other translation use scattered or dim or loose their lustre etc etc

I really would like to know
Thank you
