Woman has in islam has no freedom? Look again!!!

Assalamu alaikum,
There was something i always wanted to discuss about. Freedom? DEfination of freedom-->having the rights to do what you want to without any pressure from any source.The media always critcises islam, saying that woman have no freedom, no rights, they are hidden under sheets, hidden from da world and so on. What is their defination of freedom? 1stly, i would like to compare the both extreme sides of the world. The western society! And Islamic society!

Western society boasts that woman have equal rights to man and they have the freedom. Actually if you zoom to the real facts, a woman tends to be underpaid than a man for the same field of workin a western society. Is this equal rights?If the western scociety critises the woman's attire and mode of dressing in islam. Let us see how the west treat woman???
1) Woman wearing skimpy attire? Is this freedom or peer pressure from tv, popstars??
Let us look at the life of woman through out history
In india, Woman were made to jump into the burning pyre of their husband??

2) woman in ancient greek socities couldnt decide whether to classify woman has animals or human beings. They were looked upon as creatures who couldnt control their sexual urges. Finally they decided that they have to be humans but slaves to man to satisfy their desires.

3) Baby gals in china were buried da moment they were born.

To put in other words, woman are looked as objects that please man throughout history. Not as a companion that shares problems and love one another.

What about the modern world?? The history still continues in our present life. There was once in the past, where woman were forced into prostitution and to wear degrading clothing. But, the modern man (sorry guys) have adopted a new method in which both genders look upon it as smtg great! Woman of today, are barinwashed into believing that if you walk naked down the road you are coooool!, you are hot! You are great! But if you cover your body you are classified as boring! Granmotha!
How are these woman being brainwashed? Tv, Movies, friends,. Even in movies, woman are made to believe that a glamour acttess makes it far and a character role player can only get fame thru real hard work. Why is that woman have to strip to be famous and cool? How come man dont do that. Even in indian movies, the actor comes out fully dressed and da woman is 3/4 naked? Is this equality??

In the modelling world, woman gave up wearing clothes, they come to da concept that instead of wearing bikinis, wearing stickers on their body to cover vital parts is more hot? Or painting your body? I can take tight clothings, but this????!!!!!! Okeyyy, well u;ve shown everytg? is there anytg else which is interesting abt these woman??

Nowdays, men comes up with the concept.. woman covered up are more ineteresting. So what do foolish woman do, they start covering dem selves. There! This proves that woman in da west are mere puppets. If man says "take off!" they will!. N if they "put it on" they will! What woman rights are you talking about? What are their concept of freedom? You can have sexual relationship with a woman, but without the responsibilties of providing for her, for the children that may be born out of this relationship! These relationship are defined as "No strings attached!" Isnt this bad? How come woman have to suffer, and man can have fun and go? Isnt this treating her like a prostitue? AN UNPAID PROSTITUTE! These woman just move on to more men , and they do the same to them. Isnt this unfair? What about children? What happens to dem? If da mother is a teenager,she dumps her baby in some toilet bowl or trash can? This kid grows up with the question mark "what wrong did i do?" Worst, they abort it? Children paying the sins of a sinful man and woman? They get burned for a sin they never commit? And this children repeat the same offences or beome criminals beos of the improper environment they grew up in.
They look at woman like some juicy drumstick. Are man the only one to be blamed? Where are the brains of the woman. why cant they understand that they are being brainwashed?
Western parents encourage childten to date, or they close one eye when they date, and they end up being pregnant?
Their reality of their freedom is this, you can have any relationship with woman, without the headache and responsiblities! And woman, their idea of freedom is mere pressure from TV!

WOMAN IN ISLAM
Woman in islam are very much protected. They have equal rights to man. Many mock at a woman who covers herself, they ask "why are you hiding!" . Its not that we are hiding, we are concealing our beauty and self respect. Nobody caged us into wearing this, nor are we caging ourselves, We have freedom to protect ourselves, protect our beauty, and FREEDOM to choose wat to wear. We are not having pressure from any channel. Its nt like we have "HEJAB CHANNEL" on tv. We are just being the way we are. We have self respect for ourselves and we are cetainly not food for shaytan or unjust men's lusts.
Woman in islam are educated, they work in jobs equal to man, this is what we call equality.A simple hadith narrates, that a woman has equal rights of a man to sprinkling water on her husband's face to wake him up for prayer. Even in something simple as that god shows us equality. I rather prefer polygamy, then have woman sleeping arnd with multiple partners and bearing orphan children. Atleast these woman in polygamy marriages, have a husband and are protected.

Except for countries where illiteracy is high among the populist, Muslim women are as educated as any other women in the world. Actually in the United States and England, women who are embracing Islam have more degrees than the men who are embracing Islam!

As far as profession is concern, Muslim women can be found in every sector of society. Muslim women are encouraged to stay at home, not in order to keep her subservient but because this is in the best interest of her children and society. The modern working women are subjected to the horrors of society, to say nothing of the sexual harassment encountered in most work places

Another concern, that upsets alot of people is the fact that woman staying at home despite being educated. Woman stay at home not becuase they are caged or they have no choice. Woman stay at home becasue they give the best environment for their children to grow in. If a man is working, and a woman works, the children grow up with less morals and principles as both prominent figures in a family is not there! And think, a woman works and she also has to do duties of a mother and a housekeeper? Isnt that more stress on her, Its not that islam forbades woman to work, its just that woman choose to be that way. This is freedom.

Talking about work, i read in an artcle that woman in jordan long ago used to work simple jobs. In a modern singaporean society, woman work, men work. Children go to daycares, n dont even remmeber their parents. Or worse, they are kept under the care of maids, and sometimes get sexually and physically abused? Ppl work for their children, Doesnt this defaet da purpose???

Woman in islam are treated fairly. But i would like to point out smtg. Woman from some muslim countries are not treated fairly! If im right woman are nt allowed to drive cars, and woman are made to waer burkhas, whether they like it ot not. Some of these woman may have different views. Some of them may prefer something less hotter. Woman are made to cover up! But not until such extent. Some men in middleeast, use fabricated laws to keep woman at home while they go and have affiairs in other countries. Peer pressure exist in muslim countries too, not all of them go into a BURKHA fully knowing y they are in it. Some just wear it becos their freinds do, and they feel confused.Some men are selfish and possesive that they use the hejab as an excuse to hide da woman away from da world, take opportunities from her and oppress her. Hejab or in other words covering was brought abt to protect a woman not make the woman an object of possesiveness, and not an excuse to take away a woman's freedom. Men were given dress codes too, but not many follow it, its sunnah to grow beard, wear da muslim cap, how come they dun do that but put a burka over a woman? Some of these ppl still mistrust woman and their mothers, sisters and wives, n give an excuse of hejab and hide them. The true meaning of hejab is covering, not possesiveness.

If u look at it at a wholesome, both extreme sides are nt right. One exposses and sells woman, another side hides woman and take away some of her lawful rights.Both sides are fighting with thier extremist points of view!Only islam permits freedom to woman justly. Not all muslim countries are the true islam, they are only called muslim countries becos of the majority of muslims that live there. Until the true laws of islam are established, there is no true freedom 4 woman. I hope that this topic doesnt hurt anyones feelings and i truly apologise if ive hurt anyone of u!

In a precis, Islam may not exist in many muslims globally;and microscopically, not even in this forum.

That's when reality checks in. Build Islam in ourselves and Islam will be built in our community.

The prophet did exactly that. He built personalities who loved Allah and His messenger and He sent an ambassador to do the same thing in Madeenah, until the day comes when the hijrah was commanded, the brotherhood of Ansar and Muhajiroon were easily fostered.

The issue is, the Islamic empire was not built in a day. The prophet took 13 years in Makkah to solidify the love for Allah and His messenger and took another 10 years in Madeenah to actually apply laws of Islam.

Nowadays, we have zealots who want to apply laws of Islam on people who don't even know who Allah is. These zealots look at Islam from the Madeenits point of view and forgot the process that the prophet laid down in Makkah.
