I mean there are a few Gujarati groups, mainly Surti, then Kutchi, Burachi etc...

Gujarati is the main lingo but many have different dialects, I like the pure gujarati that Surtis speak :D

Funny that i actually got it right when i had no idea at all how to read it:X (i was a kid mind when i went and said that...!)

I ran away before she could make me read the whole list to 'assess what i had learnt'.....

soo anyway

I also know Gujarati, my parents were born in Gujarat. I know it sounds a bit funny, so i mainly speak urdu at home.

But remember the U'lama of Gujarat, Darul uloom deoband, are the most popular across many parts of asia, especially india & pakistan. And they are preferred the most.

You also gotta remember that we have the top scholars, in india, most of them Guji's, and they are the best in the whole of asia, even though we are not a muslim country. I don't see pakistan or bangladesh producing top class scholars like ours. And they are muslim countries.
