jesus PBUH preached quite the opposite
And behold, one came and said unto him, ‘Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?’
And he said unto him, ‘Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.’ "
[The Bible, Mathew 19:16-17
sorry, I can't see nothing of any difference...all Christians believe we must keep God commandments. But also lead the life of Jesus, that cannot be done alone...only with the help of the Holy Spirit can we do that.
and when Jesus tells the man to give all his belongings away...the man is sad.
[QUOTE]Because the man thinks to much of his wealth in this life...but what really is important is to forget your wealth give it away...everything of material value.
What is important is the eternally life..not this one.
That is what Jesus is meaning in this .....the commandents must be kept but also they must be done with love with a heart..
not like the pharies who where clean on the outside but inside they stank!
We agree with this statement, remember Jesus PBUH came only to the lost sheep of israel, he was only meant for them and nobody else, so when he says the above it is only intended for the jews. He says here nobody comes top the Father, ie God except through him, well yeah muslims agree with that, only through him could the jews at the time get closer to God by following the commandments the Prophet Jesus had been sent with
Jesus did come to preach to the Jews first yes...Because God had choosen the Jews out of all nations to be an example for the rest of man-kind..so man-kind would follow the laws of God and understand there is only one God. Some Jews did follow Jesus and still do today.
We the gentils (Christians today) where grafted into the (Jewish Olive) tree the Jews all along this was Gods intention.
Matthew 15:22-28.
22 And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, "Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon."
23 But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, "Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us."
24 10 He said in reply, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
25 But the woman came and did him homage, saying, "Lord, help me."
26 He said in reply, "It is not right to take the food of the children 11 and throw it to the dogs."
27 She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters."
28 Then Jesus said to her in reply, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour.
Jesus did help the Gentiles though our time had not really yet come.
Remember the parable Jesus told about the King who gave a feast for his sons wedding
15 Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!
16 But he said to him, "A man once gave a great banquet, and invited many; 17 and at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, `Come; for all is now ready.'
18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, `I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it; I pray you, have me excused.' 19 And another said, `I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them; I pray you, have me excused.'
20 And another said, `I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'
21 So the servant came and reported this to his master. Then the householder in anger said to his servant, `Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and maimed and blind and lame.'
22 And the servant said, `Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.'
23 And the master said to the servant, `Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.'"
From this parable we see clearly the Jews where invited..many turned down their invitation into Gods' Kingdom...and the invitation was opened up for the gentiles...us
Matthew 22 1-2
1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son.
The Book of Revelation describes a future marriage of the Lamb and His Bride in Re 19:7
Matthew 7
13 "Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it. 14 But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.
Jesus is the narrow gate he is the only way to everlasting life with the Father
again we agree with this, he was talking to just the Jews of his time
at first yes the message was for the Jewish nation...then came our turn, that doesn't stop Jesus still being that narrow gate.
Hebrews 13
5Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Matthew 7
21 "Not everyone who calls me "Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only those who do what my Father in heaven wants them to do. 22 When the Judgment Day comes, many will say to me, "Lord, Lord! In your name we spoke God's message, by your name we drove out many demons and performed many miracles!' 23 Then I will say to them, "I never knew you. Get away from me, you wicked people!'
You said...Can't you see from this verse he is saying people who called him God, Jesus will be angry with them. he only wants poeople to do it in the name of God( The Father in Heaven) who is Jesus' God, and our God
you are taking this passage out of context...for it to mean something Jesus never said...
If you read the whole chapter of Matthew 7 you can clearly see, Jesus never mentions anything ,neither anywhere in the Bible that if we call him God he will disown us.
he tells us he is in the Father and the Father is in him.
He who has seen Me has seen the Father."
I and My Father are one
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." -
Isaiah, describing Jesus (Isaiah 9:6)
So where does this confusion come from...his conversation is all to do with the hypocrites...people who say they follow Jesus but infact do not...
Mat 7:24 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
He is telling us...if you don't follow me correctly in all that he taught...don't look for me to help you out on Judgement day!
Mat 7:26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
well I think this is loooooong enough..
