Well that could be the case. The Swahili I know (or the lack of it in my case) is spoken in Kenya, Mombassa.

Do you know this song: mamako star, star! Ana koola fish, fish, ooji na coke! Lol.

And how about this one: samaki akeoza msintoope, mtafote malimawo mkaooshe…..Lol, classic!

Lol.. my grandma was saying it was something else.. I don't remember myself now. :? And we had a Kenyan teacher and when I said it to her, she was like no, tea is chai and I was like :? . lol

I was born in the UK, never spoken it with anyone, not even learnt it. Well, I did learn bits and bobs from grandma, uncles and aunties ... but I've even forgotten that. :offended: lol

I'm sure you know MORE than me because right now, I think I only know chai. :p

would habaari gaani be same for both genders? :?

Yeah, I'd love to learn Swahili. :giggling:
yup sis habaari gaani is used for both genders, but not many ppl use this anymore well the youngsters anyway. They'd say instead VIPI?
I personally dont know swahiili a great deal but i know a few words here and there which is better than nothin'.

SAASA?
the answer is FEETI! that means Good.
meemi = i
weawe= you ( for both, luckily huh?:happy:
nataaka= i want...
Naku peanda saana= means i love you very much. the
the word peanda is pronounced like PEN in english but the E is longer.

:w:
I'm not the best to ask but what i do know is that swahili doesnt have like the X in somali nor do they have the ayn like in arabic, and most of the pronounciation is kinda long and they have kinda nasal sounds at the end of words, you'll hear it when you go there!
Oh the vowels it's the opposite to somali the A makes an E sound... Allahu a'lam bout the rest.
