Well I was speaking to a few people, and they told me that a few of the people in my college, who are religious, and some haafiz, were doing well at college, because they stay away from sin. Is there any truth in this? Because I have noticed the majority of pious people (as far as I can tell they are) seem to do really well in Secular Education.

No I mean they are generally pious, like, pray salaah, don't talk to girls, lower their gaze, spend all their free blocks in the salaah room reading quran, or discussing islam.

I happen to know quite a few of the ones you have described and they are nice people in general too. This doesnt neccesarily mean however that just because they pray salat 5 times a day everyday they do not commit sin. I myself am only able to pray 4 out of the 5 (hey, i'm honest) but i assure you I do not sin nearly as much as half of the people in college (i'm going purely on the basis of actions speaking louder than words) who wear the full kaboodle (topi, shalwar etc) . It boils down to the person themselves.

Although, those who are able to pray 5 times a day and go jumat ("40 days!" :p) tend to be the most pious. Whether or not they get an A grade in accounts is a different matter...

Salaam.

It comes to mind that whoever prays their 5 daily prayers, Allah will make their daily bread/living easier for them.

Salaam o alaikum,

Well, speaking Ideally, I think one who prays salaat 5 times a day should be, if nothing else, a hardworking person. Salaat teaches us descipline, teaches us time managament, teaches us concentration. And thats all I can think of at this time. Depending on how sincere one's salaat is, I believe it does effect our lives and Should make us hardworking people.

Just my dream. The reality of the situation? I dont think you can judge people just by their 5 times salaat. Well for that matter you cant judge at all, but, God knows the sincerity of our salaat. And that is what, I believe, makes all the difference.

Allahu Alim

May Allah forgive me and us all and guide us. Aameen.

Alaikum salaam
