Hi everyone. Tomorrow I have a big English Presentation on the history of Islam. I would appreciate it if someone would write the english pronunciation of these words. (Arabic's so awesome, in the next couple years I'm going to the middle east and will have to learn it then).

Quraysh
Badr
Khadija
Jinn
Hijra

I think I probably have more but this will get me started. Thanks whoever helps.

God bless.

Thanks, Ahmed.

I guess I was just really wondering how you say the "j"

is it like in "pleasure" or "jog" or "jose"

is Quraysh 2 or 3 syllables? "khoor-aish"

I'm probably just being stupid.

Congrats on getting married.

For Jinn, Khadija, and Hijra its like the 'j' in 'job'.

Also, Id say Quraish is two syllables, 'Qur' - 'Aysh'

Na, arabic is soemtimes tough, and its very important to be precise. So its good that your asking :)

Regards,

Ps- I'm not getting married :p Thats for one of the Super moderators
