Whats the avarge life span for a male?
I think that is a very open question since life expectency differs greatly depending on which country you live in.

As an example of the range, the lowest country for life expectency is Botswana with 33.9 years. The highest being Andora 83.5 years

That is only a statistaical average for calculating insurance rates. Suppose you were born in a country were 75% of the babies died on the first day. But, ever baby that lived past the first day died at age 100. Statisticaly that would mean the life expectancy over all is 25 years old. However, if you are one of the living ones, odds are you would live much longer.

Reality, none of us is more then one heart beat from death. Please click on this:

I don't quite get what you mean by reality and us all being one heart beat from death and how that relates to the average life expectency of differing countries.

reality still remains that if you are born in Botswana your chances of living to 80 are quite slim. If you born in Andora your chances are quite good!

The point being that although averages can be calculated they only are for statistical purpose on a whole picture. A better guide for an individual would be to take the average age of death for his grandparents, That will be a better guide for an individual then the National averages. Then we get the factor of accidents, pestilance or war, all of which are pretty much random factors in calculating. But, either can be instant death for the individual, This is were I get that each of us is only one heartbeat away from death.

Statistics are good for predicting the trend of a large population, but are nearly meaningless when trying to apply to an individual. You can Take a population say that 10% will die before the age of 30 80% will live to 80 and 10% will live to be 100 Now that will give an average age of about 80. But if you are in the bottom 10% that will die before the age of 30 Them numbers have no meaning to you.

DALE ranking

The DALE ranking has placed India at the 134th position among 191 nations, with an estimated life expectancy of 53.2 years at birth in 1999 (Table 1). DALE in India was 53.5 years for women and 52.8 years for men in 1999. Sri Lanka (76 rank) and China (81 rank) are much ahead of us in terms of health performance. Even, Pakistan has been placed 124th rank. Bangladesh is a bit behind us at 140.

Japan leads the world with DALE of 74.5 years at birth in 1999 (Table 1). After Japan, subsequent places are Australia, France, Sweden and Spain, with DALE ranging between 72.8 and 73.2. The UK has been placed 14th while the US is at 24th. All of the bottom countries are in sub-Saharan Africa, where AIDS epidemic is rampant. Sierra Leone is at the bottommost country with DALE of 25.9 years at birth in 1999. Life expectancy in these countries has been reduced by 15-20 years in comparison with life expectancy without AIDS.

Based on these the world wide average for males is about 72 years and for females about 82 years

So your using statistical averages then?

So your life expectancy changes depending on where you live your life?

That is the problem with statistics. Stats only measure what they were designed to measure. Actuary tables on life expectancies are no different then odds tables posted by bookies. In every race it is know that one horse will win. Theoreticaly in 10 horse races any horse has a 10% sent chance of winning and in theory should win one out of every ten races. But, it don't work that way.

Life span is very much individual and based on a persons heritage, life style and unforseen tragedies. In other words if a 90 year old man moves to Botswana it does not mean he is going to die immediatly cause he is already over twice the life expectancy.

My posts are probably reflecting the concept that I do not like the way statistics are used. I believe our individual life span is only known to Allah(swt).

The stats can say that we can expect so many people of a certain age will die in a given area in a given time span. But, we can not identify which of those people it will be.

About all we can say is if you are a male over 72 years old, you have already outlived nearly every male who was born in the same year you were born.

If you are just born this year, odds are in your favor that you will not die until 71 years have passed.
